Has anybody been rejected or waitlisted in this first round? I've only heard of acceptances. One of my friends hasn't found out yet...I'm hoping for the best and just assuming that they did not have the capacity to send all the letters in one day. But it is kinda weird that nobody has been rejected, that I've heard of at least.

One of my friends got w/l at SCS and accepted at CIT when he checked the site at 12am today.

ohh okay, yeah i guess i have heard people getting into one school and getting rejected/waitlisted to another, but I still havent heard of anyone not getting accepted at all.

Yup. Looks like the first wave was the acceptances.

Rejections are coming on Saturday.

You know what, even though CMU and other colleges are eager to let the students who will potentially be joining them in the Class of 012' know of their decision, it really is bad for the rejected and waitlisted students' health.

Students already have enough stress when they apply to high caliber institutions like CMU, so it's only natural that the stress of waiting at their computer all day is pure torture. =/

Just saying, lol.

I called them today about this, and I found out that their decision for one of my schools (they wouldn't tell me if it was Tepper or HSS) was made only yesterday. It's strange, I know... but that's what they said.

They said it would take 3 days for mine to be up - perhaps it will be up later this weekend or Monday.

They promised that it was not an indication of rejection/acceptance.

I would not worry.

Someone says that only acceptance can check their status in online, I checked it yesterday!

Is it because I'm international?

Anyway I feel so bad because I really wanted to enter CMU.

So everyone knows- its just small gray letters that say "accept" in the small gray box that says what school you applied to.

i heard of a couple of kids from our local school received rejections from CMU and we live in nor california. not sure if they are part of cc though

Waitlist for CIT and denied for SCS. I don't understand this decision. I wonder if CMU got swamped with strong applications this year despite the high cost of attending the university. Honestly, what does CMU want?

They want me. I've got an acceptance. Who wants to take my spot?

May I ask what are your states and why don't you want CMU? My son raved about the SCS program--thinks it is one of the best. I have some concerns about CMU--Pittsburgh, weather, narrow focus programs in case you change your mind and hard to switch schools unless there are any openings, very expensive.

There are worse cities to be in than pittsburgh, its decent.

Actually I consider Pittsburgh as a plus for attending CMU. It is a great city and they offer good opportunities to the college students in their town.
