Has anyone been rescinded for a D in AP Calculus AB from Miami University-Ohio? I am just curious because I am on the border right now. Thanks.
D’s and F’s are actually the rule of thumb for rescission, so tread lightly. You’ll need to talk to your GC ASAP and talk about the situation. You might have to call the school and talk to them about this and how they will approach it.
Some schools do rescind for a D. But do you mean a D for the year or a marking period? Most HS only send out a final transcript with year end grades. Ask your guidance counselor what gets sent out. If you think you will get a D fora final grade I’d call the college at some point - maybe offer to repeat the class in the summer.
I’d do anything possible to bring the grade up – meet with the teacher regularly, get a tutor, ask a friend for help, do extra problems – try to avoid the D.
D for second semester. I got a C for first semester. And my grades for math over my four years in high school have always been in the low B and C range.
If you do not plan to study math or engineering and have an otherwise sound academic record, the “D” should not be a problem. However, be clear and honest with the admissions folks NOW.
Does your admission letter from the university say anything about how well you must do in your previously reported senior year courses?
I have been talking to the admission counselors about my situation. I am majoring in Business so I guess math isn’t the highest priority. I have taken nearly all the business classes offered at my school and excelled in all of them.
