I’m thinking of applying for a masters degree at Pepperdine University and I found out that the program is at West LA campus instead of its main Malibu campus.I’ve visited the Malibu campus before and it’s absolutely stunning. Can anyone tell me what the West LA campus is like? Does it have the same atmosphere as the Malibu campus?
I’ve only driven by it. No, it’s nothing like the Malibu campus - it’s in an area that feels like an urban industrial park - very nice and upscale but no character and certainly no view.
Hate to break it to you, but the West LA campus is an office building just off the 405 freeway and the airport.
It’s a nice, somewhat newer building, but is nothing remotely like the ‘campus’ setting of their undergrad location.
If I remember correctly, there are no housing facilities, so you’d be on your own for that, making it the definition
of a commuter school.
BUT, location doesn’t equal strength of program, or graduation results.
That’s what you need to check on as you make your decisions.
I’m thinking of applying to Pepperdine’s psychology masters program and it’s at the West LA campus instead of the main Malibu campus. I’ve been to the Malibu campus before and it’s absolutely stunning and I’m worried that the West LA campus is not as nice. Is the West LA campus nice location-wise and does it have the same atmosphere as Malibu campus?
Not been to the Irvine, but the Encino Campus is also an office building, albeit a smaller one and farther from the ocean (critical for the breezes). You’d be near the 101 freeway, rather than the 405.
