Ha! I didn't get any scholarships from my college, and my family's EFC is too high, so I am required to pay full tuition. We're going to pay it.

Has anyone else decided that their undergrad experience is worth paying FULL tuition?

many people pay full tuition...

I pay full and would pay full anywhere I went. Lousy parents and their bank accounts.

Too much money for need; too few smartes for merit. :(

Full here, too - turned down some merit scholarships at other schools for it. But it's totally worth it!!!

We've been saving for college for our kids for years, so we're paying in full, and then some.

Yes, we're out here, the ones paying they whole enchilada. Fortunately we saved for this. And our wonderful son, offered merit aid by all the private colleges he applied to except one, chose that one. i should add that we feel strongly that it is worth it.

Ah yes........so thrilled to have saved and not qualify for finaid!!!!!! But I have to admit that we were lucky to be able to do that, and agree with lalady that we think it is absolutely worth it. Grateful for some NM money, though!!

Wow this looks like an awesome thread for my situation

I'm considering paying full tuition, but can't decide! I'm applying to Transfer to Brown. They just got a small budget for transfer aid, but are now need aware. I have, according to their system, a need of about 18,000 dollars, so we're like average need, so I'm worried, have a much likely chhance of getting in. 30% of admits with need will get in and 70% of those who don't will.

So I'm considering withdrawing my application for aid so I have a better chance of getting in. But then I would have to pay full tuition for my 3 more years. We can't afford this. But we can "do" this

I really really want to go to Brown. Is it worth it?

Well, if you really want to go to Brown, withdraw your financial aid application. That's what I did for my first choice (Harvard). I knew I couldn't afford it but I did it anyways. I thought to myself, first step: getting in. The second step is paying for it. I planned that I would do anything, absolutely anything to get the money to go there. If you really want to go there, withdraw your financial aid application. You'll find a way to finance it.

What was your family's economic situation lilke? What kind of sacrifices did you have to make? What has the "absolutely anything" been? Are you glad you made that decision? How in debt will you be (or not be?)

THANK YOU
