I'm really wondering why I haven't gotten any. I got a lot from U of M, but chose MSU over U of M.

I was accepted in late October, have a 3.7 GPA, a 33 ACT, but haven't gotten anything. Anybody else? I'm kind of worried because I can't afford MSU without scholarships, and I know people with much lower stats that have already gotten a ton.

My d was accepted to both schools. UMich gave her a nice scholarship. MSU didn't offer her any. They did invite her to compete for one, but no other offer. She has 3.97 wgpa + 2090 SAT.

Yeah, if you have financial problems... you may do best selecting schools once you know complete scholarship offers. Otherwise, you may end up going to a university that you can't afford.

I haven't got any from MSU either. State's my first choice but there's no way I could go without scholarships. And I don't want to have huge loans just for undergrad.

I got a meh scholarship from out of state, and an invite to apply for some program-specific scholarships. I think they sent out the OOS financial aid info first.

Kids at my school who are in the honors college have already received some scholarships (honors-specific).

I e-mailed MSU finaid today with a question about the national merit finalist scholarship. The auto-reply that came back (you know, like "thank you...you will receive a reply in 2-3 business days" etc) had a footnote that said "We will begin processing 2009-2010 applications in March 2009." So I guess it will still be a while.

I agree with mephist. It looks like out of state kids are hearing back about financial aid before in state. I won't be surprised when they start trickling in for you guys. You all have great stats that are worthy of great scholarships.

My d is in state. She was accepted 5 days after she submitted her app and accepted into Honors College shortly thereafter. She received generous scholarship offers from both UMich and Kalamazoo College.
I'm a little surprised that MSU didn't offer her anything. Not sure if it would have affected her final decision - to attend UMich - but like I said, it was a little surprising.
