A few people on the Murray thread have said that they received postcards from W&M complimenting them on their applications. Has anyone else received one? I'm curious as to what it means, besides the fact that these are highly qualified candidates! Also, if you've received a postcard, can you say whether you are taking AP Calculus senior year?

Did other people get this email? My friend got in on 1/30. It's nothing like a "likely postcard," but I didn't get one.

"Greetings from the College of William and Mary!

We are writing to let you know that your application has been
received by us, and we sincerely appreciate the interest you have
shown in the College by applying. If for any reason your materials
are not complete, we will follow-up with you directly. You've done
your part, and we promise to do ours by reviewing your application
thoroughly and thoughtfully."

THis is not a "likely" postcard. It is merely a very nice way of telling you that all of your application materials have been received and will be reviewed.

From what the people on the Murray thread were saying, it wasn't an e-mail, it was a postcard, and it said that the school liked certain parts of their application. I haven't seen the postcard. Maybe if someone has received one, he or she can post the wording.

I think this is a little trivial. I wouldn't be worried at all if you didn't get one.

The message was too specific to share, but to settle your worries, it was really just a nice message from an adcom that said she liked my essay. I'm in precalc, out of state, Murray candidate FWIW.

sunshadow, I said it's nothing like a likely postcard. Did you read what I wrote?

I got one, it said something along the lines of,

"Dear ____, I really enjoyed reading your application, blah blah. Have a great senior year."

____, Admission Dean for Delaware.

And I wasn't a Murray candidate originally, but then the admissions committee nominated me, and now I am.

I honestly wouldn't worry if you haven't gotten one. It doesn't seem like a very big deal.

I got a postcard about a month ago. It was handwritten and talked about how unique my essay topic was. Yes, I am in-state and I am taking AP Calc this yearr.
