Has anyone ever been admitted with such low stats and applying late?

I didn't make the early application deadline... all my material is finally now in at the end of December. My GPA is horrible and I was wondering if anyone had been admitted with these stats..

Gender: female
Out of state
GPA 10th-11th: 3.0 unweighted, school doesn't weigh but lots of honors/AP so more like 3.3-3.4 weighted (this is what KILLS me). But I'm really really hoping to get deferred because my senior year grades are a LOT better because I learned time management etc., 3.8 UW/4.6 W
SAT: math - 770, CR - 700, writing - 690 , total: 2160 (on another SAT I scored 740 on CR but Michigan doesnt superscore)

ECs: Tons of ECs, lots of diversity stuff that I wrote about in my essay, sports - captain of a school team, and I also wrote an essay about playing baseball on an all boys team and competing at a high level.

Areas of interest: I mentioned how I really liked economics and computer science and am looking to do one or both of them in college

My essays are pretty good... my question is, am I automatically disqualified because of the GPA? Or do I have a slight shot with my senior year grades? Thanks.

Check out the “CC” Early response statistics thread. This will give you an idea of the average ER applicant. As I was compiling the data I saw a decent amount of 3.0-3.3 OOS students with similiar test scores as yours, so I would remain hopeful. Good luck.

I’m not positive on this but would you have a better chance because you’re a girl going into computer science? Also your SAT math score is really good.

I am OOS, and I was admitted to their College of Engineering priority with a 3.338 UW GPA. Hang in there. Write stellar essays. AND GOOD LUCK!

I was admitted with a 3.27 and a 1600 SAT. I applied on Jan 1. Stay positive and good luck!
