Has anyone ever been rescinded for a plagiarizing incident?

Hi guys!

I'm not sure if you've read my other thread on this subject, but short-story: someone on the internet plagiarized my college essay pretty badly. I'm currently accepted under early decision, but was curious as to if ANYONE knows of someone who was rescinded because of plagiarizing a college essay or having had their essay plagiarized by someone else.

Any input will be awesome! Thanks guys!

No but if they catch you cheating after you have been accepted, you can bet that they will most likely rescind you! There’s no reason to cheat or plagiarize after you have been accepted to a college and are enrolling in!

…you’ve received advice on this issue plenty of times now…

You wouldn’t be rescinded for someone plagiarizing your work, but if you plagiarized someone else’s work than it is certainly very possible. Colleges take plagiarizing very very seriously.

Google Blair Hornstine for a real life story of someone who’s admission (to Harvard) was rescinded when they discovered she was guilty of plagiarizing.

SpaceDuck: I know, but I’m just extremely paranoid. I hope you will understand :/

But my question is there’s no way to concretely prove that I wrote my essay first. Does anyone know someone who has any resemblance to this issue besides Blair Hornistine?

Stop spamming these forums…

Honestly, if you get rescinded you’ll be rescinded. There is nothing you can do. You have been told this MULTIPLE times

None of us have the magical answer for you. We, this group of strangers on the internet, cannot predict the future. We are not UPenn admissions. I’m sorry that you’re paranoid, and I sincerely hope things work out for you, but none of us are going to be able to divine the answer for you, so I’m not sure what this posting is doing.

Sorry you are going through this. The only thing I can think of is that you might want to find a school that is still taking apps and apply there(don’t use the essay in question)as a safety just incase you do get rescinded. You are probably ok though since if you think about it I’m not sure how turnitin works but kids basically reuse their own essay’s at multiple colleges… why penn? why Duke? why “fill in the blank college” you get the idea… So I don’t think the colleges are necessarily checking that site.

MichiganGeorgia, that is against the ED agreement. All apps are rescinded.

Wallrus. Sorry didn’t read clearly. Thought it was a Regular app.
