Has anyone ever done an AP rescore, and what was its result?

I really feel like that I should have received a 4 instead of a 2 on my AP U.S. Gov exam because I thought it was really easy after taking it and I really thought I did well. Ever since I found out that I only got a 2, it has been bugging me forever. Anyway, does AP rescores ever end up turning out well? Would it just be a waste of money to order a rescore? Should I just assume that a 2 is what I actually got?

Please please reply back with your experiences with an AP rescore!!

Bump…

Unless you know the class content by heart, can confidently churn out sophisiticated and coherent essays in the subject, and maintained a high grade in the class, then do not rescore.
You probably earned the score that you received.

Well, I was pretty sure that I nailed the essays because they were so easy

Even if I did really well on the essays and probably did decently on the multiple choice, shouldn’t I have received something above a 2?

Have you done released exams and compared yourself to a score guide? In APs, it’s very easy to feel good about an answer but be completely wrong and get no credit.

I never did an entire exam, but the essays I was like really confident that I did well on all of them except for 1 of the essays where I might have made a mistake. Like i’m 99% sure I did well on the essays. The multiple choice I didn’t find incredibly easy, but I also didn’t find it really hard either.

Probably is a waste of money
I got a 3 when I thought I would get a 5 on the US exam, and it felt really good when I finished. (The teacher’s mock AP exam final for US Gov I got a 5 on his).

So I don’t know? I know someone who got their score bumped up from a 2 to a 4 because he spilled water on his MC sheet :P

Maybe you’ve read other threads and seen our experience already? In case not, last year my D had her APUSH score raised from 2 to 4. We requested the MC rescore and the FRQ booklet. Turned out something happened to the MC section, lost or mangled. They didn’t ever say, but used the grade they had from FRQ to estimate a score for her (and refunded the money we paid for the MC rescore.)

I figured it was worth a shot to try. She had all 4s and 5s otherwise last year and the previous year. Was sure she had nailed the exam and always has been accurate in predicting how she performed on tests. Also it was cheaper last year. I see they raised prices for rescores and FRQ booklets this year. Do you have other AP scores? How have you done on those?

@celesteroberts‌ This was my first year of AP’s. I also took Bio which I got a 3 on.

“Well, I was pretty sure that I nailed the essays because they were so easy”

maybe because you were overconfident you didnt live up to your expectations? You can look this up, but ppl who found the SAT challenging statistically did better thsan people who thought it was really easy.

I hate when people are rude. There’s no need for it. I had a friend who scored perfect 5’s on 6-7 AP’s in one year and got a 2 on Chemistry. When he logged in he said under his 2 it said something about rescoring being done for accuracy. Then one say he logged in and it was still a 2. If you’re very certain you did well and had a high grade in the class I would pay for a rescore. But it also depends on how much you studied. I had an 87 for APUSH and made a 4. One of my other friends had a 92/93 and made a 3. The difference was I studied. After I took the test I was confident I made at least a 4, was hoping for a 5 but when you mention the wicked witch of the west that tends to happen. If you personally believe you passed request the booklets and pay for a MC rescore. Give the booklets to your teacher and ask her to grade them. Best of luck!

That won’t matter. The CB won’t change a score based upon a teacher’s review.
