Has anyone ever heard of "Blue Lakes"

This is a summer music / art camp in Michigan. Has anyone ever heard of it or know anything about it?

I think it's actually "Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp." It's on Lake Michigan just north of Muskegon. Very similar to Interlochen, from what I understand. I knew kids in high school who went there for music and enjoyed it very much, I don't know anyone who went for art. It's a very scenic area. That's about all I know!

Thanks, Lori. I appreciate the help.

All I know is that it's a "rival" of sorts to Interlochen. Someone I know went there, but she never mentioned how it was. From what I've heard/observed, Interlochen is more well known throughout the US. Having spent five summers at Interlochen myself, I would most definitely advocate going there. It really is a great place. Just thinking about it is making me insanely nostalgic right now. ^_^

Are you thinking of it for music? Visual arts? Dance?

Actually, S&J, none of the above. My D is a fine arts major in college, and she was asked to apply to teach some of the younger kids. I wanted to make sure it was a reputable institution, and didn't have a "Freddie Krueger works here" reputation.

So since my D may be teaching there, it definitely will go up a notch !!!

Sorry, I kinda (wrongly I know) tend to suppose that most people that post here are students unless they specifically mention their S or D. embarassed

Anyway, good luck to your daughter this summer. I'm sure she'll have a great time. May I ask what her major is (Painting, Drawing, etc....)?
