It’s a program were they help you with your college essays, applications, etc. The guy in charge is called Nitsan Hirgil. He e - mailed me last night after I requested information saying that 100% of his clients have gotten into one their top 4 schools and 96% getting into one of their top 2. He wants 4500 to do all the applications and I have about 12 colleges i’m applying to. I have the money, should I do this? I want to get into either, Cornell, university of Pennsylvania, Boston college, NYU, or Villanova
Hey, for only 5% of his fee ($225) I’ll do a check on this person for you
With no google hits for either name, what on earth makes you think it’s anything other than a scam? If you must pursue this Ask for referrals, BBB records, anything resembling a track record.
On the other hand, it doesn’t sound like a Nigerian name . . .
College counselors (or college consultants is what they are called if not affiliated with a school) can be a fantastic resource for ambitious high school students. College consultants know about ALL sorts of colleges and practically every relevant nuance, but, more importantly they will know your chances of acceptance based on your scores, extracurriculars, and essays (the essays count for A LOT more than anyone thinks…especially at prestigious schools). A consultant is a legitimate expert in an extremely specialized role that works full time at exploring new programs and possibilities for prospective high school students-- not just a friend who helped their niece with her essays and it happened to turn out OK. A good consultant will insist that you apply to a range of schools varying from ones you are virtually guaranteed to get into to dream schools, so that you have the most options at schools that you will thrive at and enjoy (not just settle). BE CAREFUL of so-called consultants that are not up to date on colleges or lack experience and data to support their claims— and ASK THEM A LOT OF QUESTIONS. Anyone can say they have a 99% success rate with IVY admissions, but if they’ve only had two clients that changes the picture entirely! I HIGHLY recommend that you choose an experienced, ACTUAL Ivy League graduate if an Ivy League school is your dream. I run a very successful tutoring company, but my primary focus is college consultations. If you need or want more information about what this means or have questions for me-- don’t hesitate to contact me. Completely unnecessary.
Use your college counselor as a resource. All the information given from that person will be the same as the college counselor’s. If you do want an edge, the only thing really worth paying for is SAT tutoring/test prep.
I don’t even support the SAT tutoring, but that’s beside the point.
