so far …

my DD has instate tuition plus 2000 per year at one school. (at an OOS school)

she has 14k from another. (private)

both of these options end up being more affordable than UA for us. (the first by over 10K and the second by just 2K)

has anyone ever heard of UA upping their scholarship offer to be competitive with other offers?

No, but there’s no harm in trying.

I think the other public’s (is it UArk?) offer is the most important.

I’m not sure what is the best way to approach this and with who. It wouldn’t do any good to try to negotiate with just some odd person who answers the phone in the scholarship office. Such a person has no power - even if they are a “scholarship counselor.”

Carolyn Rogers might be the right person, but I don’t know if she’d be so overwhelmed now that she might just overlook the situation.

yeah - uark would be the most similar school.

idk either. but it might be worth poking around.

maybe i could ask my area rep and see if he has ever heard of such a thing.

we have a local UA reception to go to on monday.

Are you able to “scan in” their scholarship offers so that they could be electronically sent as attachments to your request?

yes, i could do that.
