Has anyone ever taken a class with Kramer, Elise A.? She teaches anthropology.

I'm thinking of taking ANSC 162 next quarter to satisfy the cultural diversity requirement since it fits my schedule perfectly. Does anyone know how much work she gives either for this class or for previous other classes she's taught? How hard does she grade? Does anyone know specifically what assignments we have to do for ANSC 162? I'm going to be taking some core upper divs for my major, so this class is not going to be my top priority, but I would still like to get a good grade and hopefully have it boost my GPA a bit. Any thoughts about either the class or the professor would be much appreciated!

You could check ratemyprofessor dot com.

I did, but there were only 3 reviews and they were all for ANTH 23. I also checked Cape. I wanted to see if there are any other people who took her as well :)

I had Elsie Kramer for Anth 23 fall quarter, it was her first time professing. As far as grading goes, it was really the TA’s that were responsible for that. I know she instructed them to grade hard so that there would be a curve at the end of the course. She did assign a lot of reading, but none it was really that necessary for passing the class.

Her lectures are very fast paced and she doesn’t typically post her lecture notes, so you kinda have to write quickly. She likes to show movies/videos which is relieving. I found a lot of the course to be interesting. In short, if you’re taking one of her classes for a letter grade, don’t expect an effortless A. You’ll have to put some work into it, albeit 2-3 hours a week.
