has anyone got the letter?

anyone yet?

nobody on southern california?

My friend has (oh, btw, we both live in socal). She got in! :)

One of my best friends just got in yesterday!

Congrats to your friends!

Just curious...
Anyone else get their ED decisions yet?
What were the stats of your friends?
Anyone know if Pomona generally defers most of their early apps or just rejects most of them?

Thanks

i got deferred

I'm sorry, just keep in mind that they only accepted around 50 people during ED 1, I mean 50 jeez that's like nothing. My letter got mailed on Monday and I'm expecting a deferral too.

How do you know your letter got mailed on Monday?

How do you know they only took 50? My daughter is thinking of doing Ed II. Do you think they will take more? How many apps did they get?

Last year they took 114 through ED out of the 383 total and the admissions people told me that they take about an equal number in each round...so I just assumed that meant around 50 or 60 in ED 1.

I don't know how many apps they got but they got 398 for early decision last year.

My counselor forgot to send a form, so she faxed itn and then they wrote her an e-mail on monday saying that my letter had been sent.

I GOT IN! Oh my god, I am in shock right now. I am soooo happy yayayayayay I love Pomona

Congratulations, NyLibertine!

And theonlyone, I've known many a student who was deferred during ED rounds and accepted RD. Do not believe that they're deferring you to ease the sting of rejection; if you didn't meet the criteria, you would have been rejected outright. The fact that you applied ED will be an asset during the RD round.

thanks little mother
your comment made me a little happier
i wasnt that sad to begin with
what do i have to do to reapply for RD?
can i change my essays?
and let's say i do get accepted to RD, then do i have to go to pomona?

Just make sure your school send your mid-year grade report, continue to do well in your classes, enjoy senior activities and your ECs, and let the chips fall where they may. Your application will remain active and cannot be altered. RD is not binding; it is a buyers' market, i.e., you get to pick the school from those that accept you.

mid year report is due february 15th right?
do i get the privilege to get reviewed first among all the RD applicants?

im dying... i haven't gotton my letter yet.. do you think that means i didnt get in or just that i live really far away?

really really really stressed out in NJ

juliahelen--you can relax; the letters take an extra couple of days to reach the East Coast.

theonlyone--the midyear report must be received in the Admissions Office by February 15. As for your second question, why should it matter? Your application will still be compared to the rest of the RD pool. Relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy yourself--the holidays are coming!
