Has anyone gotten a perfect score on Literature?

Literature is quite possibly the most difficult Subject Test, as there's really no way to study for it. Have you or anyone you know personally received an 800 on the SAT Literature Subject Test?

I know a girl who got an 800 on lit last year. She's at Yale now.

One of my best friends did. It really really funny because the day after she took it, she was like: "that was the worst test ever"

She was so surprised, it was great.

I just took it in november.....didn't quite get a perfect score... or anything worth ever thinking about... ever. Personally, I think it's an absolute bear of a test and I'm glad I don't have to think about it again

You seriously need to be like Shakespeare's best friend to get good on the test. It's so irritating...

Is lit anything like the CR section on the SAT I ?

More poetry, more in-depth, and definetely less straightforward.

I got a 690 in October. I took APLang last year, in APLit this year and only did a few practice tests. I think analyzing literature is more of a skill than something you can study for IMO.

doing a lot of practice tests will definitely help you learn how to analyze literature better, or so i hope. i've been doing kaplan and PR to prepare for this saturdays test. only did 8 out of 14 tests and i've been progressively getting better. my scores range from 640-700. aiming for 730 on saturday

I got a 610. I hate it. It all seems like opinion to me. There is a kid I know who got a 790 I think, it was at least 770. He just gets it. I don't. I owned him in math though.

I got a 730. Haven't heard of anyone getting a perfect score.

My strength is definitely in critical reading / languages, so I decided to take the literature subject test. I did no preparation and knew relatively little about the test. My first impression upon completing the test was that I didn't do that well - there were a few questions that could go either way. Lots of old poetry from the 17th to 19th century. I was surprised and really happy to see that I got a 750. I don't know what the curve is like but I remember that I answered every question on the test.

I got an 800 on the November test, which was unexpected. I thought it was really difficult.

only a 780 :(

I received a 700 in November (first SAT subject test) without prep and without sleep, so I think that if I took some practice tests I might procure a "perfect" score. It was actually quite strange because I received a 670 in U.S. History (I'm having it hand checked), even though I was expecting a perfect score and I received the 700 in Literature, which I was expecting to bomb. It's all subjective I guess.

The November test was so grueling, that whoever did receive a perfect score is either a rhetoric genius or is very "blessed".

I was told that literature was easier than the CR section of the regular SATs by a few people. The kid I know who got an 800 CR also got an 800 in literature. I'm hoping to do well... this is making me really nervous!

Is it similar to the AP lit test anyone? In other subjects, people say the subject tests are like an easier version of the AP tests.

I got an 800...shrug

So what did everyone who did well on the lit score on the CR section of the reading? I got an 800 first sitting, so I'm thinking about taking lit, but I'm a sciency person and more into the analysis-thing than the know-obscure-terminology-for-describing-writing thing that's on the AP. Which is this test?

SweetherThnEqual-- I thought the SAT Lit Test was pretty much exactly like the AP English test, but without the writing.

silentsailor--I got a 730 on Lit, a 720 on Reading, and a 770 on Writing. There was definitely a lot of "which retorical device is used here" questions, and some were pretty tricky. Knowing the definition of the devices wasn't enough in some cases; you really had to have an understanding of it. You probably won't get an 800 without that, but since you did so well on the CR section I can't see you getting any less than a 700. I would take it if I were you.

800 on CR and you call yourself sciency? O.o

You should be fine as long as you study for it..

Hmm.. I got an 800 on CR both times that I took it, but I honestly felt like this lit SAT2 test today was much easier. Short little poems, and relatively straightforward questions. I don't know how the curve works exactly, but I walked out of that test feeling pretty confident in an 800 on this as well.

Math 2 on the other hand... good lord. I'll be happy to crack 680+ on it.
Haha.. I kind of love how there are very distinct mathematically inclined people and very distinct english inclined people-- and we each think the other is wierd.

is there any way to really prep for the SAT lit and dramatically improve your score?...i think its more something you know or you don't
