Im a community college student and I applied for the fall 2014 semester as an accounting major. When I go to the portal it says I have been provisionally admitted to CSUN. I’m guessing that means Im admitted to the school

@smurray09 I had a bunch of CTVA classes and an ART class, trying to get rid of those upper div GEs.

@Rob9091 I think you’ll be fine, to be honest. my GPA was a 2.8 when I applied for Fall '13.

@tarekitani Good job. Yeah, you are, that happened to my sister too.

Provisional admits for transfers already??! Where is this found? Front page of the student portal?

@xxcapital Sometimes they take a while. I didn’t find out until July.

@rob9091 mine was a 2.7 going in but it went down to a 2.66 after they took out the classes that didn’t count. So you should be fine.

hello i also applied to CSUN for their Art/animation program for the fall 2014 semester and ive been really worried that i wont be accepted. i also applied with a 2.8 coming out of RCC. these posts have been pretty reassuring, but im still scared that theres an chance i’ll get rejected.

Accepted as an accounting major!
Good luck!

Anyone heard from CSUN for transfers yet?

Accepted as freshman some time ago in kinesiology.

I haven’t heard anything. I’m CC transfer & out of their service area.

I’m a CC transfer student from San Diego, I heard back today (I got accepted!!). I sent my transcripts in mid jan.

Congratulations! I checked a few hours ago and had no response yet

Can I Still Get Accepted Into CSUN with a 2.4 GPA as A CTVA Junior College Transfer [-O<

i got accepted as well and i am curious about that intent to register part. what exactly does that mean?

@danthaman

In order to show CSUN (or any school) that you intend to go to their school in the fall, you have to tell them before a certain time. For CSUN it depends on whether you’re a transfer or a freshman.

This link will help you: http://www.csun.edu/anr/soc/guides/intentregister.html

@casnowplow, thanks for the info. so if i intent, does that mean i have to attend CSUN or just saving a spot?

Saves a spot. You usually have to pay some amount of money as a downpayment. If you choose to go somewhere else, you lose the money you gave to CSUN, but they’ll let you go.

I applied but have not received any type of notice. Everything is sent and received. Plus, May 1st is in about 2 weeks. Gotta decide soon!! >.<"

Man I don’t think I stand a chance…I am a transfer student from a 2 year college in LA County that is not in Northridge’s local area. I have sent everything in to them such as the transcript and completed all General Ed and Golden 4 requirements… I am majoring in Graphic Design under “Art” as Northridge puts it that that category. I think my GPA of 2.59 is mediocre so do I have a chance for Fall 2014?

Anyone accepted for Fall 2014? I applied to transfer back in February! The anticipation is killing me. Every time I call they say next week. The admissions office is ducking me like they owe me rent money.
