@myusernameiscool I know! I was thinking why it was so late but I guess it’s good cause it gives you a lot of time to sort things out.

@smurray09 yeah, lots of people do apply to CSUN, i didnt think there would be that many people actively posting here that actually applied there. and yeah @Roseyy it does give a lotta time, which is good, but then again, the waiting game is really not fun at all!

@Roseyy just an update. I sent off my CSU Certification today… or I ordered it today and it’ll be officially sent off on Monday, so hopefully I hear something positive in the next few weeks. I’m really banking on CSUN since all the other schools rejected me, well not all but most. I MAY have a chance with Fresno, but honestly I don’t want to go there at all. Too far from home lol.

@myusernameiscool yes, thousands apply to CSUN every year lol. It becomes more and more every year lol. For example 74,000 people applied to SDSU this year (I was one of those people). Just imagine how many people applied to CSUN… have you visited the campus yet? If so, how do you like it?

@smurray09 oh that’s good. They should be able to give you a reply soon then. Having the certification is a definitely a plus. And btw, CSUN isn’t impacted for transfers. So maybe a lot do apply, but not that much for them to declare it’s impacted.

@myusernameiscool I know! I’m so glad I got mine a little early, but I think it’s cause I kept bugging them about what else I needed, haha. Don’t worry too much, you’ll end up where you’re supposed to be!(:

@smurray09 i applied to SDSU, too, haha nice! I visited CSUN on the 3rd, a few weeks ago, and i gotta say, its a really nice campus compared to SJSU and CSUEB (I live in the SF Bay Area), it’s huge, and all the buildings a relatively new and renovated, which is cool because I know at SJSU, the buildings are still old from way back because they’re currently renovating their student center. have you visited CSUN yet?

@Roseyy you’re so lucky, i wish they would tell me already! i feel like calling them and bugging to ask what i need as well, lol. unless all that i need is on the checklist on my portal, heh. Did you literally just call the A&R office and ask ‘em what you needed, because i’m seriously thinking about buggin’ em now that you’ve said that!

@myusernameiscool haha, well I called them right when I applied and asked their advice if it was better to send my transcript right away or wait for Fall grades to be up. And other stuff … I basically was just calling them to make sure what I was worrying about was right or wrong. Ha. What’s your major?

@myusernameiscool I visited the campus on October 6, 2012. It’s beautiful… I went on a Saturday so most people weren’t on campus. I don’t live too far from the campus probably 1hr 15mins away total.

@smurray09 I live about the same, but a little shorter, distance! I go to SMC right now so the commute isn’t that bad … Unless it’s rush hour!

@Roseyy aww man, i should’ve done that too! smh haha i waited too long to send them, gah! im doing CTVA, Electronic Media Management.

@smurray09 cool, yeah its a really nice campus and i should’ve went on a weekend, too. man you and Roseyy live super close to CSUN!

@myusernameiscool As long as you have your 60 units + your Golden Four, I think you shouldn’t worry. You’re from NorCal?

@Roseyy yes that’s the only thing I’m worried about. I live in the AV, and going on the 14 is ok, but once you hit that 405… It’s hectic! I haven’t really experienced driving down to CSUN myself so I don’t know how I’ll react to all the traffic.

@smurray09 the 405 is always crazy, but if you leave earlier than 7, you’re fine. And there are probably side streets you can take to kind of get ahead. And I’m sure there are buses too! Cause that’s what I might do if I decide to go there.

@Roseyy yeah, i have more than 60 i think, because De Anza CC is on quarter system, i have 90+ quarter units, and the I’m good as far as the Golden Four goes as well. Yeah, from the silicon valley area in NorCal.

@myusernameiscool oh is CSUN your first choice? So you’ll be dorming?

@Roseyy yeah, at first it was CSULB, but after touring both, i liked CSUN more. But no, actually my sister and I are gonna find an apartment off campus somewhere. She got accepted in late February, so now my family are just waiting on me. Speaking of housing, do you know what are some good places/areas in the Northridge area to live in?

@myusernameiscool ohhh that’s good that you have your sister also! Well, I actually don’t know good places to LIVE around the area … Cause I don’t live around that area, I just commute around there. Sorry. Santa Monica’s pretty near though. It’s full of life.

@Roseyy yeah, it is, much cheaper than if we went to different schools as well. Ohhh i see, okay, well thanks anyways, i should actually start looking for a place to live, though haha

Ugh… I’m so frustrated. Turns out my CC didn’t send out my CSU Cert/Transcripts yesterday like they were supposed to. I really hope this doesn’t mess up my eligibility for CSUN.

@smurray09 just make sure you get them out asap. You have two months 'till the last day to SIR.
