Has anyone who applied to the CTVA (Film) majors heard back yet? A few friends and I who applied to those haven’t heard back.

All my portal says is:

You have applied for Undergraduate admissions as a First-Time Freshman for the Fall Semester 2015, as a Resident. You have indicated an academic plan of CTVA - Screenwriting.

We have received your application.

@RamonGurrola‌ when did you send in your transcripts? It could take up to 9-12 weeks after theyve recd your transcripts to process. I mailed mine 1/6. They recd 2/3. Was accepted 3/23. I feel you though. The wait was unbearable. Im a transfer student from San Diego. CTVA.

Does anyone know if they are still accepting transfers? I have a gpa above 3.0 but I am out of the area

Hello.

I’m a Psych transfer student that applied to CSUN before the deadline last year. I’ve already gotten replies back form CSU’s, but nothing yet from CSUN. I’m looking at the “incomplete tasks” area they have on the CSUNPortal and on there it’s asking for an Official Final Transcript and proof of immunizations. I figure i need to send those, but the problem I don’t think I’m able to send a Official Final transcript unless the spring semester is already over, and as for the immunization I don’t think I have any since I came from another country and my records aren’t really accessible from here.

This is kind of a problem for me since I need to accept/decline offers from other schools and I’m really hoping to get something from CSUN before I make my final decision.

BTW I have a 3.15 GPA, no SAT/ACT scores because i went to a H.S. in a different country, and I’m currently a student at Pierce college in Woodland Hills.

Hi guys, I finished my last required classes during Fall 2014 so I applied to CSUN back in about October and sent my transcripts as soon as final grades came out in either December or January. I’m not in school right now because I’m just waiting to continue in the Fall 2015. I got an email from my CC telling my that I have been verified for my ADT (Associate Degree for Transfer). It’s already April and I haven’t heard anything from CSUN while I’ve already heard back from other schools? Should I send out my transcripts again since my degree has been verified and since I’m already done with CC and also notify them that it has been verified to see if it will speed up the process of my admissions decision? And what do you think my chances are of getting into CSUN as a transfer student from San Diego with a 2.84 GPA as a Psych major. Thanks.

@krizpyyy‌ @JBaris‌

If you haven’t already, I do strongly advise calling their admissions office or emailing them (it really does speed up the ball from my experience and confirm if you need any further action). Good luck, everyone! I do agree at how alarming it is to still have not received anything by this month.

@DasherCat‌ Thanks for your response. Any ideas on what I should say to them? I don’t want to sound pushy, you know? Do you think I should send in my transcripts again even though Spring 2015 isn’t over but technically speaking, it is for me since I finished in Fall 2014 and I just recently got my ADT Verification? Thanks.

@krizpyyy‌

That’s a tough one as I personally come from an area that offers ADT to only a few particular majors. So I am unaware of how much of an advantage it would give to those who acquired them. I don’t think it’d hurt to send in a newly updated transcript, but keep in mind that it might take a while for them to get to it considering the situation with the initial transcripts.

Sometimes you can never guarantee what kind of receptionist you’ll get (enthusiastic or apathetic). Just be polite and state your main concerns (I.E. Being apprehensive about your status considering that date it is now, preference for updated transcript, etc). But don’t worry about what they perceive of you. As someone who is concerned with their future, I’d think it’s valid to question what’s going on.

Hopefully, they’ll give you some perspective on the matter. I wouldn’t be surprised if they answer vaguely, but it’s always better to hear directly from the school officials.

@DasherCat Yes, Psych is one of the majors that qualifies for ADT which is my major and ADT is supposed to guarantee admission to CSUs. Thanks for the advice.

I’ve been provisionally admitted. What does that mean and can they reject me again if they wanted to?

@eggplant372849 It’s an acceptance with conditions. As long as you’ve completed coursework required for your major and remember to send in your final transcript after spring semester, you’re good to go.

Thanks @DasherCat :slight_smile:

Thanks @DasherCat I just called them this morning actually. They told that the reason I haven’t received anything is because I attended Winter classes that they haven’t calculated yet because when sent the transcripts it was still the Fall so the Winter classes weren’t included. I’ll be submitting the docs on Tuesday hopefully before May 1 I’ll receive some news back so I know which place to go to.

Thanks again.
Best wishes to everyone.

Hello, I just applied to CSUN as an international transfer student from Brazil, on 04/17. My major is Civil Engineering and my GPA is 3.1… Was it too late? Any ideas of my chances of getting in?? I’m really frustrated cause I would have to apply for a visa and plan everything…
