I was accepted about four to five weeks after I applied. I was fully complete by September 12.

SAT: 1380/1600 (M 740, V 640)
GPA: 3.35 (but go to a very rigorous top 10 private school in the country)

Received $32,000 scholarship on a $8,000/year basis.

Hey everyone! I'm new here, just joined in today because I found this interesting thread. IU is my school of choice, and I just recently got an e-mail that all my stuff has gotten there and is being reviewed.
Now, I know that this was all mentioned before on how the ID was given to everyone, but I read this on their website. I had asked the question "Does everyone receive a 10-digit University ID number when the apply?" It said :
"Your 10-digit University ID number is included in your acceptance letter.

If you have lost your letter of acceptance, you can contact the Office of Admissions to request your University ID number be sent to you. To protect your privacy, we can only send your university ID number to the e-mail address that you provided on your application for admission."

For...socal(?) and others any of you not get accepted that found their ID number? Is it the same one as well?
Because I found mine as well, and I just received the e-mail that they were reviewing it 3 days ago. Hoping that the ratio of you all that I saw (about 4 I believe) finding their ID before, then getting accepted....that I should get in..?

Haha, sorry if that was confusing...it's late and I'm very tired.
=]

One last thing, I never got an ID with anything when I did the application, only when I went to that site. And if you start to make your e-mail and such https://ams.iu.edu/skit/Auth.aspx that page pretty much shows that not everyone could have one. Yes, it does say prospective, but that means that that person is expecting to probably go there -- after they have been accepted.

ohxelle the only way one will know for certain is to call. I would say unless someone here says they have not been able to set up an account then perhaps there is so credibility otherwise I wouldn't get my hopes up. Good luck to you.

ctmomof3:
Tomorrow I am actually going to visit IU. Then I guess I can talk to them tomorrow. What do you think I should ask exactly?

ohxelle please share with all of us your experience at Indiana and did you get any useful info you want to share?:)

well the saga continues.....FINALLY they have acknowledged having his transcripts! They have had his application and scores since early OCTOBER!
Now they sent my son an email saying its complete and it will take 3-6 weeks!! I hope they say that long to cover themselves and its not really going to take that long, they have had plenty of time to go over his application and scores, his SAT is 1990 so I know that is on the high end for Indiana, I would think all they have to do is review his transcript but what do I know? Any input??

When my son got that same email, it was about 3 weeks later that he received his acceptance. The end is in sight!

ctmomof3,

My son got accepted about four days after getting the application complete message, but it was expedited by the counselor who makes the final decision because the transcripts he was lacking had been at IU since September and just had not checked in properly. So I would say about a week if your son's application is expedited and probably three weeks if it is not. Would make a nice Christmas present to hear something.

It would make a fantastic Christmas present to get such good news!! Will keep you posted.....thanks for the feedback.

ctmomof3,
Do not worry. We had a similar experience that ended with a happy acceptance ending about 10 days ago. Your son might already be accepted, but it could take the status page 4-6 days to reflect the acceptance. Your son's application is probably in the expedite pile.

Accepted!
OOS- NJ
1200 SAT
89 GPA
EC- Varsity Ice Hockey Spanish club

njdevils, congratulations! Did you find out over the weekend? How long ago was your application complete?

I actually posted my acceptance kind of late because I am new to the site, but I sent my app. in at the end of September and recieved my decision in the first week of November

My counselor said she'd mail out the signature form/transcript last week, so hopefully she did, and IU is getting it in the mail ...I know mail around the holidays tends to be slow.

Sucks when you hear they're swamped, even more than usual! fidgets

I'm pretty sure I'll get in, it's just the waiting that's hard! I also missed the priority deadline for scholarships, so ugh. I'm OOS so it'd be tough to pay it all out of pocket (I'm middle class in the state with the 2nd highest cost of living, nearly 50% above the national average so I'm not holding my breath for any financial aid). I also am anxious to submit my housing app! Please let me in, IU!

Congrats to you all that got in already. :)

Today my S received word that they are directly admitted him as a freshman to their Journalism school.

My S received an e-mail confirming acceptance just before Christmas. Still awaiting packet in the mail.

Some dates in Son's process:
Dec 4 - online "You have been admitted to Indiana University ..."
Dec 11 - email notification of admittance
Dec 26 - received admissions packet in the mail

Admissions packet contained Hutton invitation dated Dec 4 and congrats letter from IU admissions dated December 10. I think Kelley direct admit notification comes in a separate letter, and you don't have to do an application. Have until Jan 18 to postmark Hutton application.

Did he apply for the fall or spring semester? Admissions told me they weren't even looking at fall applicants until spring semester started. Of course, they tell me something different every time I call, so who knows what's going on...
