[University of California - Admission by exam](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/freshman/requirements/examination/index.html)

So my UC GPA is 2.957 and ACT is 32 (E: 30, M: 34, R: 32, S: 30). So I am still eligible for admissions at UCs according to that site, but who has gotten in with that? Even to Riverside or Santa Cruz.

The index I got was 413.33333333

My son got in Admission by Exam - this was 4 years ago.

He was homeschooled, so although he technically he had all the requirements except the arts, he did not have any that counted. I think he is the type of student that this is for, not for someone who did go to the schools, but had a low GPA.

Basically, they are saying that if you have the index they will look at your application, but you could still get rejected for the same reasons you did not qualify in other ways. But give it a try…

BTW, they have to process these a bit differently, and the higher ranked schools have a more sophisticated admissions process. My son got into UCLA, Cal, UCSD and got rejected by UCSC!!
