My regional admissions counselor said that they were going to the the waitlist next week. Not sure if they are reviwing next week or calling next week.

Usually Emory will start taking people off the wait list a week before the May 1st deadline. If they’re waiting till next week, that probably means their incoming freshman class is pretty full. But don’t despair, there may still be some spots left!!

Hey guys I was offered admission on Friday April the 30th. I received a phone call followed by an email which read as follows:
Dear XXX,

As I shared in my telephone call, we have been notified by our Dean of Admission that we can admit a small number of students from our waitlist. I am thrilled that your name is one to be included in this years freshman class!

To reserve your space in the Class of 2014, you must send a non-refundable deposit of $450 by 4:00pm on Friday, May 7th. This deposit includes an orientation fee, a housing reservation fee and a credit towards the first semester tuition. We also require that you send the Admission Response Card. Please send your enrollment deposit and Response Card by FedEx to my attention at:
The rest of the email just has specifics but anyway I hope you guys get it. GL

800 math 2 and 720 bio
idk how my recs are but i dont think they were amazing prolly just average
Hope it helps good luck

kpanwar, are you enrolling?

yeah definitely, emory was my top choice

I also got off on the 30th, as stated in the other thread.

do you guys mind sharing your stats? also, did you guys send the admissions office/counselor a lot of things like extra recommendation, letter of interest etc?

^hopefaith, I think its almost a requirement that you have to indicate interest to the college you are waitlisted at. That’s how they know who will attend and who won’t.

Yes, you must absolutely convey interest, meaning that you will go if they call. One more spot may be open. My daughter is not going to enroll.

I’ve heard that the freshman class is full and it’s unlikely that the admissions office will be taking any more kids off the waitlist. I just wanted to let waitlisted students know what I’ve heard so they can manage their expectations.

^Sources? where and from who did you “hear” ?

A friend told me who heard from an admissions officer that the class was full.

holy…s*** r u sure about this icfireball? im so waitin to hear from them…gotta call the adcom today :(

Is this true??

I believe that they send out an email whenever they have decided they won’t admit any more students off of the waitlist. Before that, they might still admit some people.
Good luck!

omg albertobrooks it’s such a relieving news to hear!! thnx!!

I’m not saying they won’t still admit people – they may – I don’t know. All I’m saying is that I’ve heard the class is full. Don’t loose hope altogether, just manage your expectations.

Whatever the case is, good luck!!
