What were they like? What sort of things did you talk about? Did you like your interviewer? I don't really need tips, I'm just sort of curious as to what you thought about it.

Also, has anyone done an overnight on campus? What's the social life like? What are the students like with regard to...politics, academics, style, personality, athletics, etc.? Have you visited classes?

Last year my son had an alumni interview. The interviewer was in grad school here in the city where we live. She was quite young (early twenties) and had a great rapport with my son. They talked about all kinds of things, mostly about Rice and what it was like, and he felt very at ease. Relax, be yourself and don't stress. It will be fine :)

I had an interview back in October off campus because I live in Sugarland which is practically Houston. The interview is really laid back. My interviewer was HOT! ...to say the least... so I guess you know if I liked my interviewer.. We talked about Rice, the programs that they have, R/B etc., Beeer- Bike... O-week....

I haven't done an overnight visit though so I can't help you there.....

yeah alumin interviews are cool, had mine in dallas. the guy was really cool and he answered all my ?s. just make sure you know stuff about rice and what you like about it.

I went and visited twice. Once just on a tour / info session and I just recently did an overnight. It was a lot of fun, and I'd recommend it, since I learned a lot about Rice from that trip. I had my interview there. It was with a Senior at Rice, and we just talked for about 30 minutes at the office. It wasn't very long because she had to give another interview, but it's no big deal. She was nice and was laid back, so everything went smoothly.
People seem smart and interesting, but know how to have a good time. As for the classes, I didn't get very much sleep the night prior, so I didn't have much focus, but they seemed interesting.

i am a Rice student, so my advice is come and stay over night. Its a ton of fun and you guys get to hang out and party with us. You get to see what Rice is all about
