Has anyone heard about merit-based scholarships?

I was under the impression that merit-based scholarship decisions would be available by Feb. 15th. Did anyone receive any info.? At this point, should I assume my son's not getting anything? :(

I just got off the phone with the financial aid office. Since the campus was closed because of the various snowstorms, they’re about a week behind in notifications. The new deadline is no later than the 26th. :)

Is that for early action?

Yes. That is the Early Action schedule.

does Loyola U Md give good merit-based scholarships?son has 2020 sats 97 gpa

You can read about the scholarships Loyola offers at this link, from their own website:

[Loyola University Maryland - Undergraduate Studies - Financial Aid Overview](http://www.loyola.edu/Undergraduate/Advantages-Affordability/financial-aid/overview.aspx)

Check other links on their web site for additional details on merit scholarship amounts, I know its there somewhere, just don’t remember the link. Good luck.

To the other posters: I understand letters are being mailed out on the 24th. If you don’t receive a letter, I believe it means you’re not going to get merit-based assistance …

I just got a letter today. They’re giving me a $100,000 Claver Scholarship!

Congratulations!!!

Do you plan on attending?

I’m not sure yet. I’m still waiting on 8 more schools, and although that scholarship is large, it leaves me with about half of the tuition left. I have to wait for need-based aid.

i got the presidential scholarship yesterday!
$50,000!

Congratulations!! Do you think you’ll be attending?

Perhaps you and Ohboi could post your stats. (GPA and SAT/ACT scores and other info) so future College Confidential viewers will know their chances at getting these scholarships.
