Has anyone heard anything about Denison University?

I've gotten a lot of letters/phone calls from them, but after doing a lot of research (I've heard from my pop's friends that it's a good school) I haven't come up with anything conclusive.

Anyone have any info?

It is a good school - probably below Oberlin and Kenyon of the Ohio schools in terms of academic quality and rankings. Very strong in political science, bio, drama, psychology in particular. Pretty campus in a small town. USed to have a rep as a frat party school but the admin. has cracked down on that apparently. They are trying to build their geographic diversity and national reputation and doing a fairly good job of it.

Two kids from the senior class last year went there from my relatively small high school (1,000 kids total) in the Bay Area (Ca)...Something must have been attractive to them. Another one went to Kenyon too.

Denison is an excellent school with a strong national reputation. Its campus is one of the prettiest in the midwest, and Granville, the town where the college is located, feels like it belongs in New England.

As Carolyn mentioned, its drama, biology and political science departments are quite good. In addition, its English and economics departments are highly regarded.

Denison's student body is well represented geographically, and 65% of this year's freshmen were from outside Ohio (Denison attracts a lot of prep school kids from the east coast). Thanks to its large endowment (over $400 million), it is very generous with merit aid and financial aid.

Denison's popularity has grown a great deal in recent years. Last year it received almost 5,000 applicants.

Any specific questions? I live about an hour away, my friend's sister goes there (3/4 tuiiton scholarship) and I know A LOT about this school.

Jennifer Garner went there, lol.
