I wouldn't panic (although I know the feeling)...we got a postcard saying my d was missing info and when I called CMU they said they had it. It took quite a while for us to get an acceptance letter as I have said earlier. My d has now patiently been waiting for a booklet that is supposed to come with all the information about weekend activities, things to bring, etc and we were told in a letter it would be sent w/i two weeks of getting my deposit check. Well my deposit check has been cashed for almost a month and we have gotten nothing. I think they are just a little slow there and maybe this is just such a peak time for them with college letters going out! I am sure you will hear soon!

My D received her acceptance from CMU and also got into the summer program at BADA (Bristish Academy of Dramatic Arts). Does anyone have any opinion as to which one is better for college preparation and if either has more weight on the college app? My inclination is CMU....

MotherMoo, We had the same experience and are still waiting also. I've called 2x and was told they have all the application material, then we received a postcard that the transcripts were missing. When I called again I was told that they did indeed have everything and did not know why we wuold have been sent the postcard. Since we sent the app. in shortly after yours, I think we are both still ok and I am considering this good anxiety rehearsal for next year!

Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum. I'm a junior in high school and I applied to CMU's summer program a few weeks ago and I'm waiting to hear back. My friend went last summer and loved it. Hopefully I'll find out soon!

There is a CMU pre-college online Chat on April 5, 2006 from 7 - 9 p.m. They said there will be admissions counselors online to answer any questions. Sounds like a great opportunity for the kids who will be going this summer!

I called admissions and explained that we had another summer program that we needed to notify and they were happy to check on the status of Eva's application. The official notification was sent out on Monday, so everyone else who applied at the beginning of March should have been processed also, I would think. My D is very excited for this opportunity and I am really happly for her. Going to check on hotel reservations now...

Hi readers,
I am a senior MT at CMU and I just want to let you guys know of a great opportunity to listen to some current CMU Music Theatre students. If you go to http://cmu.edu/cfa/drama/fusion you can listen to a few tracks. They are all either junior or Senior MT students. The composer and lyricist of this music are also both current CMU students. Enjoy!

I have applied to CMU's Drama program, specificly acting. I am actually new to the website. I'm still waiting for a reply to see whether or not i'm in.

Mother Moo, have you heard back from CMU yet??

Sorry, I didn't update this thread before. I received the long awaited phone call from the CMU Admissions office last Friday. The recommendations are now in my D's file.

The short story... we don't expect to hear back from CM until the second week of May.
I think we complicated the application process by applying to 2 different summer programs. My D applied to the Diversity program and the Pre-College program. Now she has two complete files with the corresponding documentation. The only drawback is that her Pre-College application will not be reviewed at this time. The Diversity applications are reviewed at the beginning of May and if the kid is not accepted in the Diversity program, then they will look at the Pre-College application.

On the bright side, my D submitted her application for the Acting Seminar at USC. They were very fast to process the application and she already has her acceptance to their program. There is a amall conflict we need to resolve. USC is requesting a $500 non-refundable deposit by April 26th and at that time we will not have a response from CMU. I called USC and they have been very accommodating and are willing to work with us; we just need to send an email explaining the situation.

I am Elliott'sMom 's son. I'm a Junior in High School. I got my acceptence letter from CMU Pre-college around the end of February. Got the 2 information booklets in the mail yesterday. There's a lot of very helpful information in them on what to bring, classes, campus rules, events, transportation, etc. I'll be studing at CMU under the Acting major. I'm so excited about flying to Pittsburgh all the way from California! I'm going to learn so many great things there that I can teach my friends in theatre when I get back.

I've said this before, but to all the new acceptees into CMU summer, please feel free to post or email me any qestions. It was a wonderful summer last year for my daughter.

My name is Hannah, and I'm a junior at the Orange County High School of the Arts, studying Musical Theatre. I sent in my application for the CMU pre-college program at the beginning of March, and called today to check on its status. Well, it turns out, I got in!! They just made the decision yesterday, and the person we talked to said that the actual letter will be mailed out sometime this week.

I'm so excited!! Anyone else who has been accepted, don't be shy about contacting me. I'd like to make a few friends before the start of the summer. :D

This is so funny!!! I just sent an email to MrActor just prior to your post so that the two of you can connect. Looks like you will be able to do that now!!

I am sooooooooo excited for the both of you!!!

Hey, I'm Evasmom's daughter, and I found out a week or so ago that I made it into the CMU precollege program for MT! :D I'm soooo pumped. I can't wait to do nothing but theatre 24/7!
