Has anyone heard from NYU?

go to https://start2.nyu.edu/ibin/getnetid1.cgi

enter details.....i am assuming that if it returns you a NYU netID....you have been entered into the system and you are in.

I wasn't asked for a midterm grade report but would like to send one anyway, I just got my final grades for second semester and think they would really help my case which right now I think is on the fence. If someone who got the form could foward it to me it would be appreciated. Also, do you think this is a good idea? I am going to call tomorrow to see. Thanks.

I got an acceptance package today for Tisch, specifically Film and Television. It came in a big white envelope, but I was surprised that there wasn't more stuff in it, a couple letters, a form with my transferable credits, a form to send in the deposit (which I did today), and a little tiny book that explained housing and important dates.
Well, yay, and a sincere wish of luck to everyone else still waiting.

thanks mishra,

what if I can't login, does that mean that Im rejected?

I'm certainly worried as well, especially since decisions are sent through regular old snail mail, rather than being posted online. my guess is that if you do get in, you'll find out through the home.nyu site before you find out through mail.

however, they said at least for stern that decisions started going out on monday (may 1st), but it seems there haven't been any new wave of stern admits recently.

u have to remember that nyu accepts a fairly large number of transfer applicants and that their due date was the latest (out of the schools i applied to). i mean if you think about it, it's only been what, like 1 month since applications were due?

econmathNYU: I dunno. I am just assuming. Plus, they are still making decisions, so people might still be entered into the system. I can't vouch for the veracity of this method.

I asked the admissions officer if he could reveal the decision over the phone since I live in India and I am not sure if the snail mail will even make it this far (the postal system here sucks). He said that if I dont recieve a letter till the end of next week, he would give me my decision over the phone.

By the way, do any of you know the amount of the enrollment deposit and the deadline?

I was mistaken as International Student. (Strange I was still able to get in to Stern) And so I wasn't offered any financial aid. considering my deadline for enrollment deposit is 5/15, I dun know what to do.

i can't log in and i got into georgetown, barnard and wellesley, so if i didn't get in to NYU, that's just plain weird. don't give up hope yet, guys.

Well I got my acceptance letter today. And I think the start.nyu.edu method I wrote above is the perfect way to check if you have been accepted.

Stats
College: Univ of Michigan
GPA: 3.92/4.00 (After 2 semesters)
SAT I: 1410
SAT II: 2290
TOEFL: 290
Activities: Research (UROP), Job, Committee Member

Admit: Stern School of Business

Isn't it also possible that your application wasnt reviewed yet?

congrats Mishra!

with these stats you shouldn't have worried at all.

I haven't checked but I hope there is no letter for me from NYU today or for at least a week :))...cause I couldn't login to home.nyu.edu. I hope they haven't made all decisions yet. (wishful thinking)

Mishra, just to get this straight... you were able to login to that nyu ID site before you had any contact with admissions?

Yes I was able to login before I got my official decision. Even the admissions packet tells you to just go to the site and find your NYU netID.

economath, we have very similar stats. i haven't heard anything yet and still can't log into the netID site. there's still hope.

Has that login thing actually worked for anyone? I would think that they wouldn't put you in the system until you've made the deposit to enroll.

Good point - I was thinking the same thing.

you guys need to read the earlier posts of this thread, from page 11.

if you have yet to receive an admissions letter in the mail, a very good indicator to see if you were admitted or not is if you CAN get your NYU Net ID from the site. if it won't let you obtain your ID, that could mean two things. one- you are rejected and you should receive a rejection letter soon, or two- they haven't reviewed your application yet.

so far, people who have been able to obtain their NYU Net ID has received an acceptance later a few days later, so it's a pretty good indicator. we still shouldn't soley rely on it, but i've been checking it everyday to see if it changes. hope this helps.

hmmm it would be really wierd if i got into georgetown, barnard and wellesley and not NYU, and I can't log in. i did send my app right on the deadline, though...

yeah.. same here. i applied like a couple days before the deadline, but a lot of other cc-ers applied right on the deadline and they heard back already. it's kinda confusing, but maybe their applications are just all over the place, haha i dunno.

but anyways, congrats on your acceptances already. if i were you, i wouldn't even care if i got into nyu or not and go on over to g-town :]

hey guys, i happen to be the person who called to nyu to get a decision.
:cough: i was confused and i am a man.

not really sure why i was blocked, haha, but i registered with my nyu email lol.

ok so, i got an official letter from nyu yesterday with my transfer credit evaluation.

im going to have to argue for some credits cuz of right now i am getting shafted. like 15/32 credits are given, which sucks.
