I'm just nervous that sticking to CAS will my hurt chances of getting in...

Why not tell them that you are willing to consider either program - this would increase your chances of gaining admission. Good luck and keep us posted.

Well, what is more important, getting in to an arguably overpriced institution like NYU, or studying what you really want to study?

I considered telling NYU I'd be OK with either program, but was nervous that they'd think I wasn't as serious about CAS as I'd come across to be in my essay. Also, I'm not really sure I'd like the program offered at Steinhardt. While going to NYU would be a dream come true, I wouldn't be comfortable with my parents spending all that money unless I knew I could participate in the program of my choosing.

has anyone else been asked to submit mid-term grades and not received a decision yet?

sorry i keep asking!!!!! but, i feel all alone here! haha.

NYU lost my college transcript and told me that I could fax it. I asked them if I should include my mid-term grades and they said yes. They are going to review my application as soon as i submit my transcripts.

i agree completely luckystar.. i just hope it wont ruin our chances! good luck to you .. i hope we both get in :)

Thanks, paperclipz - you too!!

seems like NYU is pretty easy to get into considering i only know of people who got in and none who didn't

I think it's more a matter of the accepted people being willing to share the news than the rejected (that sounds so mean I don't mean it to be); I wouldn't expect the people who got rejected to be thrilled about sharing the news with people on this forum...

OR: they've only sent out acceptance letters thus far. Great...

i doubt they only sent out acceptance letters thus far. That doesn't really make much sense. I think it might be that the CC ppl are such strong applicants that they all get in. I was thinkin NYU transfer acceptance % would be somewhere between 30-40% which is pretty high.

it all depends on what college you are applying to...CAS and the rest arent too difficult to get into as long as your GPA is 3.5 or above...as for Stern, thats another story. I think their transfer acceptance % is around the freshman rates, 28-30%.

hey aletheia, we're in relatively the same boat. nyu witheld my application pending arrival of high school transcripts that I'd already informed them weren't going to arrive (never having attended high school--early entrance student). alas, it was only rectified on monday.
so we'll just have to maintain buoyancy in spirits until then!

haha, well i still feel all alone...i sent in my stuff right before the deadline, and they received all parts of my application...then, they asked for my mid-term grades, and i haven't heard back yet. i hope the mid-term report deal is a positive sign...but, i'm getting really nervous...especially (as mentioned above) no one has reported being rejected.

hi everyone,

i used the link u put for the NYU netId, and it used to say "only NYU current .... can use it" and tonight i was able to log in. i haven't received any decision yet.

does that mean i am in? i hope the answer is YES

Hey Mauritanie...I was curious, what are your stats if you don't mind?! And which school did you apply to? Thanks =)

Dude, mauritanie... I think that is a very good thing.
