Don't jump the gun yet. There are still acceptance coming probably...

hopefully soon!

i just called CAS. my app hasnt been mailed out yet. they told me this after i told them my housing app for my other college was due may 1.

i prob got rejected

hmm.. it seems like no one has gotten any rejection letters so far. just great.

guys. this is NYU. they aren't really known for their organization skills, it's fine, just chillax, wait a couple of days, and maybe then start to worry. the people who are getting their letters all probably had the same application readers or something. just a thought/hope.

for shaganov, in regards to your comment, "or decisions take longer to reach people not on the east coast..."

i live in NJ, so that is not the case.

i just wouldn't read too much into the timing of decisions being mailed out from NYU. They got 5k applications, I doubt they are all coordinated on some mass mailing system according to acceptances and rejections.

i called and they said no decision has been made yet.. i feel like this is a bad sign

they told me that my application was complete and that they would start mailing out decisions may 1. ouch. i guess this means i didn't get in, which honestly does kind of surprise me....

they said mine was complete...and then i asked if a decision had been made...and the lady said "no decision"...

forshag- did u ask if a decision had been made?

I'm having a tough time deciding whether to make the jump to NYU. It's going to cost close to $40,000 and I'm planning on law school in the future. I would love nothing more than to go to this school and I hate having money be the deciding factor. Is it worth it?

yeah they tell you the app is complete..doesnt mean a decision is made. nyu makes me upset for sending only some acceptances out :(

correct me ONLY if i am wrong.

but basically, i have made the sweeping generalization that IF you were asked for your midterm grades, and IF your midterm grades were normal (prob 100% of the students)...then you recieved an acceptance letter.

those of us who were not asked, we are most likely rejected.

They asked for my grades which were all A's and a B+ and i didn't get a letter... just give it time...

I decided that I am not going if I get accepted. I might withdraw my application at some point this week.

hey people ! it's clear we are all rejected but that's fine, life goes on
it's not like u got dumpted by ur dream girl lol

It is not clear that we were all rejected, mauritanie. I passed in my application on the very last day; and when I called last week, they hadn't even compiled all my forms yet. They are just overloaded and getting out what they can, when they can.

well i m trying to get some people anxious lol
anyway u re not attending NYU, even if u get accepted? why?

A number of reasons...

Overall, the benefit derived from going to NYU would not be greater than the expense of doing so.
a. I don't have any money, and NYU sucks with financial aid from what I hear. With grad school in the future, I need to be cautious.
b. The quality of the undergraduate education is not much better than that of my current school. It would not be worth leaving the empire of clubs and professor relationships that I have created here.
c. NYU in general does not appeal to me that much anymore. I am not terribly fond of NYC, the undergraduate body is too large, etc. It is basically another version of my current school, except located in New York.

well *** did u apply in the first place?

lucky charms, you made my day
