Has anyone heard from NYU?

At the time, I thought I wanted to go.

confusedman, hopefully this will brighten your day as well...

i posted on another board, and the reply is from an admissions officer at NYU...

Is it a bad sign if a potential transfer student is not asked to submit mid-semester grades?

Being selected for a mid-term grade review is not an indication of an admissions decision. Sometimes we simply require some additional academic information for a candidate. There are plenty of transfer students who we offer admission to every year who are never asked to submit mid-term grade performance.

Hey interesting thing......

I just called Stern, I applied as a Junior transfer and the woman said that only internal transfers were notified of their decision. Otherwise for all other externeral transfers, letter BEGIN going out May 1st.

I was not asked for mid-semester grades and I was accepted.

haha SWEEEEEEET. I STILL CANT CONCENTRATE. this is so gay. i have finals this week, and nyu is killing my grades

worldapart- i received my decision for stern and i'm not an internal transfer. But i'm a sophomore transfer.
BTW, How many do they accept for stern each year? Anyone got figures like (people accepted)/(people applied) <-- only for stern.

ggalage.. you took all the pre-reqs? micro, macro, calc, financial acct, and management accounting? cuz i saw on the current course list you posted that you only had one of the econs.

Congratulations to all those who have been accepted!!! How were you notified - via email, snail mail, Fed EX?? Also if you applied for fin. aid did you receive your fin aid awards with your acceptances.
Please share this info with us. Thanks

yeah i had micro, macro(taking now), calc 2
But no financial acct nor management accounting.

I received a big packet. no info on fin aid yet tho.

Haha Confusedman, I agree. After receiving this admissionns letter i dun feel like trying at all.

Hi all.

Has anyone heard anything from Tisch yet? I was wondering if their letters have been sent out yet. Thanks.

I really thought that I was a pretty solid candidate, but I haven't heard back anything. Of course, I just recently had to send them another transcript as the first one was somehow never received or lost in the sorting process.

Has no one heard back from tisch? I applied to their film production program, and I really really liked my application
4.0 in college (just one semester though)
1550 SAT (800 M, 750 V)
****ty high school grades (with exception to senior year, 4.2 both semesters)
I really liked my supplemental too, I even hand selected all these hand printed papers as dividers (I'm obsessive).
If only rejections are left then I'm shutting myself up in my room with 20 gallons of ice-cream and not leaving until they air lift me out.

yeah high school is somewhat important..i had ****ty grades in HS too w/ 1470

i was also getting pretty anxious...because i have yet to receive my decision, but i decided that we should all give it at least until the end of this week before we start freaking out...

i mean nyu received TONS of applications, and mailing is different everywhere...

no hope should be lost yet!!

So many people that got in to stern as a transfer already. (at least 5 that i know of) I wonder how many they are accepting this year.

I had pretty good HS record (got me into Naval Academy) but due to an injury and some unfortunate circumstances my college gpa is a 3.0 at Univ of Florida. Trying to transfer into NYU for my sophomore year, was never asked for spring grades. I'm on the edge of my seat lol...

not hearing back yet does not mean a rejection. like someone said earlier, NYU is known for being extremely disorganized, and like someone else, they are still compiling all of the paperwork for my application, and told me that that would have no effect on my decision. people get acceptance letters from NYU well into may, its not like they send out acceptances and then after that reject everyone. not hearing means they either haven't read your application yet (which is likely considering the number of applications they get) or haven't made a decision. if you were rejected, they would let you know.

Yeah, they wait and see how many people decline their acceptance, then they send out some more acceptances, along with all the rejects.

just kidding. I have no clue how they do it... I just wanted to add to the madness. I am waiting and going crazy on these damn forums.

ggalage-thanks for the info - did you receive your admissions packet via FedEx, Priority Mail or regular mail. Congrats to you!!

ggalage.. i still don't understand how you got in without the accounting pre-reqs. did you say that you were taking them over the summer?

I'm still waiting to hear as well.... for the Steinhardt speech MA program... my friend's friend who got accepted into a master's program last year said that she got her acceptance so late that she had to call and ask if it was legit.
