hmmmm who'd you call? i think i should try that too.

but i thought they can't give you decisions over the phone? interesting..

Congratulations to all those who got in! :-)

What kind of GPAs and stats did you all have? What schools are you transfering from? (I'm interested for Spring 2007...)

ha im hoping they didnt just say that to get me off their back.

i applied to cas, now i wish i applied to stern to get an econ degree w/ premed on the side

HA

Still no one has heard? I know that we might take longer because of artistic reviews, but I'm freaking out not knowing whether or not I should be freaking out yet. I'm in Kansas, so an extra mailing day or so should be expected, but I'm currently checking my mail every hour on the hour, just in case the postman rings twice.

leobag: I submitted my app pretty close toward the deadline, I called today just to verify everything was there--and the woman first told me that something was missing... I said, no it's not... she said, right, everything is here and complete (yeah, weird). She then said that I should hear something around the beginning of May. I wonder, since my app was submitted so close to the deadline--if that might have delayed anything.

hey leobag, I did the same. I applied very close to deadline. I called them just a week ago to check if Im not missing anything. The first lady I talked to told me that they don't have my college and high-school transcripts...and I said that they should be there. Then she transferred me to another lady and she said that everything was there.

I hate to say that, but but it doesn't seem good to me. If they were really missing something they would have told me. The second lady just took few seconds and told me that everything was fine, she did not even mention what I was previously missing.

Im confused

Yeah, I felt a little strange too.

Why did she claim something was missing (HS transcript for me), then immediately after I told her "it shouldn't be" (because it was sent with my college transcript), she agreed and said it was complete? Weird.

econmathNYU, why are you thinking it does not seem good? Do you think she would have told us the decision if we were in?

no letter for me today . well... at least I got into Baruch! hehe :p

did the same person told you that?

damn...I hate that. I thought and still think I can get in NYU.
I had 3.7 gpa, 4 excellent recs(one is from the deprtment that I worked as a reserach assistant, another is from Deprtment head of my major at my college), a solid essay, good extracurriculars and also Im in Honors Program of my college... I really dunno why.

But still im not losing my hope.

econmathNYU, did you have to turn in a mid-term report?

no, I didn't. though I thought they will ask for it, because my gpa went down last semester. I had very high gpa. I am doin well this semester even if Im taking one grad level class. I probably should have sent it even if they didn't ask me.

econmath, you sound like a damn good applicant... don't write off NYU yet. We have no idea how the admission dept. works... I think you will get in :)

i hope so. But as it's coming close to may , I am worried about it.
besides, it's kinda obvious that only rejection letters are sent out in the end. :(

don't worry too much...even though we all are, haha...i think we just have to keep in mind how random college admissions procedures can be

So did anyone call NYU today to check the status of application?

I hope I will recieve my letter next week.

receive.

For one, this is not the end - In fact, it's only the beginning. Also, the people on CC and their friends are not the only people in this world waiting on letters from NYU. I am sure that many people across the nation are still waiting and that there are acceptances left to go around.

NYU said that letters will be sent out throughout the months of April and May, and, in some cases, June. Rejection letters are not always sent out last. In my high school class, the first person to hear from NYU was rejected. The very last person in my high school to hear from NYU (her letter was a week and a half late) was so sure she had gotten rejected that she sent in a deposit to another school. She will be a junior at CAS next semester.

Congrats to those bright students who have gotten in - NYU or not, I hope you all find happiness at the schools you will transfer to. As for everyone else, cheer up - the notification process has JUST started. Every hour of every day that passes is not countdown to rejection. I haven't recieved a letter yet, but I am not counting that as a loss.

Applications are still being reviewed, and people are still being considered. How do you know that your application isn't the one at the bottom of the stack that will convince the adcoms to put together just one last transfer acceptance packet?

hmm since no one replied.. i'll do it ONE more time :]

from the admissions website:
"To be considered for transfer admission to the Stern School of Business, you must have completed (or be in the process of completing) one year and 30 32 semester hours at your current college or university. This does not include credit awarded by examination or earned at a previous school. If you do not meet this requirement you will not be considered for admission."

i took 12 credits in the fall semester and am currently taking 15 for spring. i needed 3 more credits to have that 30 hour requirement so i put on the application that i'll be taking a summer class. will that still count as 1 year? or will i 'not be considered for admission'? -_-

jL... that seems like a very specific question that is best directed toward NYU admissions, don't you think? Even if someone answered, I would recommend you make sure by contacting admissions (they have that forum to which you can post: http://nyu.infopop.cc/groupee/forums

just to make sure...since im getting a lot of pms, IM DID NOT LIE TO NYU ADCOM. i got my unc admissions over 2.5 weeks ago and i would have had to reply back to them to get priority housing. which is why i was told by the adcom of their decision, and they said i would not be getting an official letter from them until may 15

ALSO TRY THIS GO TO NYU.edu and FIND YOUR NYU NET ID. i put in my ssn and birth date and got to open my nyu email and stuff...so for me, thats like double assurance ( i can open facebook for nyu now HAHA)

here's what i got after entering in my info.

"Only current members of the NYU community are eligible to use this function."

ouch. so i guess i'm either rejected or they haven't even looked at my app yet, which i highly doubt. here's the link if anybody else wants to give it a try:
https://start2.nyu.edu/ibin/start0.cgi

i have pretty much the same stats as you economath, so i think we're in the same boat (or we're competition ;) )

i just called nyu, and the woman who answered told me that i'll find out after may 1st, and if nothing is sent by the end of next week to call and they'll tell me over the phone. apparently my app has been reviewed once but needs to be reviewed by one or two more people. still haven't been asked for 2nd semester grades, though. hmph.
