I think finalists for the University Scholars Program were supposed to be notified soon... has anyone heard? If so, could you please indicate what area you applied for (business, medicine, etc.)? Thanks.

no, but we should get a rejection letter if we don't get it, right?

and does anyone know exactly how competitive USP is? how many people do they usually accept? (especially for law)

I applied for medicine, and haven't heard anything yet. I think that they are contacting people for the set of interviews on the first weekend in April first, and then contacting people for the set of interviews on the last weekend in March. The University Scholars interviews are probably on the last weekend in March (don't take my word for it though).
I applied for Mylonas and was notified yesterday morning. All 32 finalists for all of the Honorary Scholars scholarships have been emailed as of now.

USP is out, as well as Engineering scholarships. Check their site.

Does anyove know as to whether any international applicant has be selected as a finalist for any one of the scholarship programs?

Where is USP at? I can't find it.

Found it!! I made finalist in medicine!! so excited

Congratulations !!! It's an awesome achievement.

didnt get into USP for law =( hope i can still get in RD!

Yippee! My S is a finalist in Architecture. Good luck to everyone.

You guys find out online or via letter?

didn't get it for business..but i got the entrepreneurial scholars!

oh and tmi I found out online

didnt get in medicine....well theres april

I'm an international and didn't get math (Compton). Doubt the two are related but smustehsan wanted to know. Does anyone know how competitive this is? Student 27, you said all 32 finalists were notified. Is that for each award or overall?

didn't get into medicine
so... i'm most likely not going to wash u

aloha- same.

how competitive would you rank washu's USP for medicine compared to schools like Northwestern and BU? i got interviews there, but not at WashU, and I basically used the same essay. I guess each committee is looking for something different.

Each committee is definitely looking for different things. I got an interview for USP medicine, but nothing from Vanderbilt Engage-probably because my scores kept me from it. As for how competitive USP medicine is, the lady that scheduled my airline tickets said that only 20 are invited each year and of those 20, at least 10 will get in.

It remains pretty competitive if you get in as well. I might be wrong, but don't you have to maintain a 3.8? That's a tough thing to do with the pre-med curriculum. WashU's Med school is phenomenal, so that's saying a lot if you get in to the USP program! Best of luck! : )
