Daughter is anxiously awaiting letter, expecially since some of her friends have heard from other Big Ten schools. It says on her status update that she will hear within 10 weeks of submitting her application and for some reason they have set that date when the transcript and counselor rec arrived from her school, not when she hit submit on the app which was a couple weeks later but before 9/15.

There should have been an email sent saying that you're application is complete. So you should hear back within 10 weeks of that email.

The policy is that the clock starts ticking on their guaranteed response time once the entire application(which includes transcripts, test scores, etc.) is complete. Last year it got longer the later in the calendar that one completed everything. However, the notification was pretty much dead-on.

Good luck all!!! Go Golden Gophers!!!

Bumping up AND wondering if anyone's app is newly completed, what is the lead time up to NOW? Also, what is the shortest time the computer is telling you? 10 weeks? At one point last year I think it was as little as 8 wks...

Nothing yet... I did receive the letter and everything saying that my application is complete you will hear within 10 weeks blah blah blah. But no decision yet. I'm pretty nervous about it... I'm worried that my SAT won't be high enough. I raised my writing score 100 points, and my essay went from a 6 to an 11. So I really hope they see those score improvements before they make a decision on me.

Just finished getting in everything today. Waiting for that letter saying my application is complete.
Hope we'll hear from them soon. :]]

You shouldn't have to wait for a letter. When you applied online the access they gave you should also give you access to "Application status" where you can see 1)if anything has not been received 2)What date they consider your application being "complete" upon and 3)How long before you will find out acceptance...

Again, best wishes all!!!

^ Lol. Yeah. Application was just updated and completed today.

So the decision will come within 10 weeks, yay. :]]

Daughter heard today, she's in at the college of Liberal Arts! Her application was completed on September 11. Yeah!

^ Congrats! What were her general stats? Instate or out of state?

Very good stats, OOS

I just checked on line and I got into Institute of Technology.

Brief Stats Overview: OOS, 2220 SAT (780 M 750 R 690 W), 770 Math II, 720 Chem, 4.1 UW GPA (A+ is 4.33), dual enrollment at Ohio University...

I just checked it the other day and it said that I have been admitted to the College of Liberal Arts(Political Science). =)

Some brief stats:
630R, 580M, and 610W/11 Essay.
4.4 GPA-Weighted.
Tons of good EC's.
Out of State (Florida).

Oooh, I'm excited. Apparently I got into CBS. I'm not sure if this was a good move since I applied to CLA first and got accepted there. I heard it's a lot easier to get scholarships at the colleges with lower median scores. Of course who knows.

Congrats accepted students!!! Any of you have UMN as your first choice?
Do tell, how many weeks between your completed apps and notification? When was your app complete (date), inquiring minds want to know...

I just checked a couple days ago and I got into the Carlson School. GPA 4.04 ACT 29, EC only a couple but Eagle and Boys State probably carried me. it took eight weeks from my complete application to when i was notified

Believersmom: Yup, UMN is my first choice (as long as I get 7K in scholarships, if not then it's off to Alabama probably) I applied before the Sept. 15 date, Sept. 12 I think. I got accepted early on-site since I'm a PSEO student right now. I did change my first choice college though somewhere in between everything though. My notification appeared last night, and the official letter hasn't arrived yet.

Oh, and I figured I'd post my stats for the record.
Accepted to CBS (and CLA too)
34 ACT
3.89 GPA (large, public school)
In-state
Decent ECs, but nothing too amazing

Just heard back! Oddly enough, I got the letter saying my application was complete the same day I got my acceptance letter.

Accepted to CLA
32 ACT
2150 SAT (690M, 720CR, 740W)
790 World History, 700 Latin
4.0 UW GPA
1/453 class rank
Good, but not amazing ECs
OOS (North Dakota)

The U isn't my first choice, but, at the same time, I do love it and would be very happy attending it. Now hopefully financial aid works out.

I got accepted to the CLA about 7 weeks after I completed my application, I believe. I'll post my stats as well, because I think other applying students might be discouraged by looking at all of your high test scores lol.

W GPA: 4.4
SAT: 1210/1600, 1820/2400 (630R, 580M, 610W and 11 essay)
ACT: 25 (22M, 22S, 30R, 27E, and 8 essay)
Out-of-state (Florida)
Tons of good EC's
Lots of dual enrollment courses
I'm homeschooled

U of M isn't my first choice, but I wouldn't complain at all if I ended up going there. They're graduate political science program is ranked like 13th in the country, so I assume that they're undergrad program is pretty awesome as well. Not to mention their amazing law school, and I hope that going to U of M might give me a leg up if I decided to apply there.

I'll probably get the chance to tour the campus in December... I can't wait!!!

I hope you have enough warm clothes, coming from Florida to Minnesota in December!
