Has anyone heard yet?

Yup, I'm hoping to go to the pharmacy school at the U of M, besides it's a lot cheaper than the good private schools

"Wow some people here have pretty decent stats. Why are you aiming for UM Twin Cities?"

LOL! Seriously? Yea, for the sake of some of our friends' kids I hope some of the higher stat applicants stay away to make it easier to get into some of the incredibly competitive schools (CSOM, IT, CBS & CLA) at UMN. LOL

Postponed with a 33 ACT and a 3.3 GPA, out of state with no class rank, undecided major. A little awkward.

Is "postponed" the same thing as being deferred?

That's what it seems like.

This might help.

Haha I got at accepted to UMich and not to UMN what a joke.

Admitted to CBS today. OOS, SAT 1550/1600 and 2350/2400, UW GPA 3.95, 6 APs by graduation, top 3% of class, decent ECs. I'm really excited! The U of M is my first choice.

Congrats Silversaline. You have great stats. My husband has his undergraduate and MBA from CSOM at U of M. It is also the first choice school for my S1 who is a junior this year. Go Gophers! (Why can't they have a more ferocious sounding name? I'm an Iowa Hawkeye and am constantly giving my husband grief about the Golden Gopher mascot).

Daughter admitted today-Application was complete on 11/3
ACT 26
SAT 1870 (530E 670M 670W)
OOS-large public in NYC
gpa-92.8/100-unweighted (no rank but assume top 10%)

Still waiting to hear from Wisconsin & Texas but UM is definitely under consideration.

How quickly did it change from your letter has been mailed to Congrats...

submitted everything by mid oct, and then the oct act later on, the status is still saying that we have recieved something new and trying to determine if it's complete.

...still waiting.

Admitted to CBS today!
ACT: 34, GPA: 4.115uw, ranked 3/180, lots of ECs

That's a relief... First acceptance is out of the way. Rejected from my top school last night, so I was feeling pretty nervous. Congrats to those who've been admitted, and good luck to those who are continuing with this horrible wait...

teebill-
Which school at the U were you admitted to?

She was admitted into the Liberal Arts College. Looking into Communications major.

I don't know how true this is, so maybe some of you can clear this up.... I was looking at the CLA website (where I was accepted) and it said that, for the class of 2011, they received 16,288 applications for only 2,600 available spots. That works out to like a 16% acceptance rate.... there's no way that it's THAT hard to get into, can it? Or does that mean that there are about 2,600 incoming freshman that chose to go to CLA, and they really accept something more like 50%? That acceptance stat seems ridiculously low...

Here's the page, it's located under "About the class of 2011": About CLA : College of Liberal Arts : U of M

AT9 - I could be wrong, but I think that "slots" means students they actually project to attend. I know for CBS, I read somewhere that last year about 4400 applied, 2000 were admitted, and there were 350 enrolled. 2600 is probably enrollment, but they accept significantly more than that in order to get the right number of students to attend.

I'm just guessing; the source is pretty unclear (probably purposefully, to inflate a sense of selectivity).

Here you go, tab CDS-C has what you are looking for...
http://www.irr.umn.edu/stsur/cds_2007_2008_TC.xls

Have not received the mailed reply from Minnesota and it does not say Congrats on the web page. Did receive an email today from housing, thanking me for the housing application fee that was paid in November. It also says ...After your enrollment confirmation fee has been processed, an official U of M e-mail account will be automatically created for you. Is this a standard letter everyone gets from housing after they applied for housing or does this come after you are accepted.

learning100-
What does the website say? "A decision has been made and a letter has been mailed"? or something like that? What school are you applying for?
My advice is to keep checking the status check site.
Good luck, let us know.
