hmm…

UCSD and UCLA are about the same in terms of undergraduate education. For some majors, one could be better than the other and so on.

So it just comes down to the living condition: the weather, the college atmosphere, and stuff.

However, comparing Berkeley with either UCSD or UCLA is a bit too much. It’s a whole new level.

I’m an incoming freshman, and I turned down UCLA for UCSD this year. The campus and people seemed to fit my personality at SD…they did not at LA. Additionally, my major is unique to SD, and I am excited about the prospects it will bring (apparently there is a contiguous masters program at SD). Their rankings may be lower in some fields, but I would opine that in a cluster of physical sciences, natural sciences, and social sciences, UCSD is held in higher regard than all other UC’s…some of these are graduate school rankings, but some of this quality will trickle down. When I went to LA, I just did not feel at home. The college system, believe it or not, was a big selling point. I was impressed by how they stem the flood of incoming students by splitting them into colleges with different GE’s. All in all, I ended up choosing SD for these reasons. I also hate Los Angeles (the city), and I loved the climate and surrounding area in SD.

I am attentending UCSD because I live In Sad Diego and its rather a good school with low cost, I mean UCLA might be slightly better but the cost of living in LA is HUGE different then at SD and there is less jobs aswell, living on the biggest cities is not always a good thing trust me. san diego is relaxing and a sporty city,
