what part of south florida are you in 2for college?..im in miami

hmm. this sucks. i just want to know. i hate that schools are inconsiderate like this.

you all still have another week within their range of responding....hang in!

We're in Boca.

still haven't heard from american either... i'm getting really antsy already

although i'm applying from the philippines (us citizen though)

Have there been any acceptances for people who have NOT applied for financial aid?

i didnt apply for financial aid so...

But you haven't heard, have you? This doesn't answer my question!

well if me and you both have not applied for financial aid and we find out some of the others here also have not it would be a fair assumption that people who have not applied for financial aid have not received admissions decisions yet

My D did not get any financial aid and her acceptance was mailed out on 3/9. We live in NJ. She did get an email on 3/9 telling her that she was admitted.

this is soo annoying. i called and the guy just said "literally within the next few days." grrrr.

I only got 6k from American. Some of the schools that I got acceptances from did not send me an email. Such as syr, penn st, au, iu, and a bunch of others. Most of them were by snail mail.

that's weird.. probably what's going to happen with mine too i guess, regardless of the decision.

I still haven't heard as well. I live in RI...about 6 people from my school (class of 100) have already heard...makes me very very nervous...top realistic choice and visited twice!

still waiting, lost all hope-my world is over, got rejected by univeristy of florida

Fsu-uf,
Sorry to hear about UF. My D didn't want to apply there even though it is highly ranked. So many of her friends with stellar stats and whole package were rejected from there, while some got accepted who didn't. It makes it very hard to figure out what they are looking for and I'm sorry for the kids who really love the school that don't get in that worked hard for it.

Don't get discouraged, you are in very good company and fortunately there are other great schools you may end up being happier at.

Got my rejection letter today...Apparently they recalculated (took out music courses, art, etc.) if you were below a 3.0/1200 with that taken out you didn't stand a chance.

i don't understand it either. i have a 3.1 and 1290, and i got rejected. that's a good applicant (not on cc but in the real world haha). i've taken 4 college semester courses, and i've taken out good grades in them. i've proved i can do the work well . northeastern gave me a great merit package even. this whole college admissions process is very interesting indeed.

omggg rejection letters already?? and they gave u reasons for ur rejection??

i didn't get a reason per se but i know the reason. on collegeboard, it shows that one of the "Important Factors" in admission to American is Level Of Applicant Interest, and i sure as hell showed none. it was never my first choice, and the school must have gotten that impression by the fact that i was waiting to visit until after all the others came in, and i never emailed questions or anything of that nature.
