I just read all of the comments listed on that site and I must say I've read a lot of bad things (professors promoting racism, terrible campus layout, bad student body, etc..), although its had a fair share of good things as well. But after reading these, I'm not sure wether I should believe them or not. Take a look for yourself...the opinions are so varied and some of the posts are disturbing.

The negative comments makes it seem like the the classes are ridiculous, the campus is ugly, and that friends are hard to make, but the positive comments are the opposite.

haha, I don't know what to think since I haven't been there myself, and I don't think I'll be able to visit the campus before attending if I choose to go there (live out in California).

Any comments on the campus/people/classes?

well lets see U of M is a big public university so yes its a large campus. I have been there and can tell you it has awesome computer labs and ann arbor too aint too shabby. as to people, well you get a-holes everywhere but then again U of M is not a vanilla cake university as it is very diverse. i will post more tomorrow after i come back from campus day

Awesome...I can't wait to hear about your experience.

Studentsreview.com should be taken with a bag of salt. This is because the comments are heavily skewed towards negative comments, since persons disenchanted with their university are more likely to post something/make it strongly worded.

Mchigan also has more positive reviews at that site than any other school.

I know many people that love the school including my daughter.

There isn't a shortage of talented, smart, fun people that want to go to Michigan

If you are really concerned, go someplace else. There are many fine schools.

The campus is definitely not ugly... I mean yeah there are some ugly buildings but for the most part it's pretty awesome. Ann Arbor is a great downtown area and there's always stuff to do. It's also an extremely diverse campus so you can get all kinds of people there. There are a lot of new buildings, especially on the North Campus. The dorms aren't any smaller than the dorms at other colleges, but of course you can choose different types of dorms and stuff. Also, you can rent an apartment because there's tons in Ann Arbor so you don't even have to dorm if you don't want to because you'll never have a problem finding an apartment.

Well, I guess I'm a bit paranoid since I haven't been able to experience Michigan for myself. After I attend campus day in April, I can hopefully make my own judgments about the university. But as for now, all I can rely on are comments from others.

Never having visited UM, nor am I for or against it, but I will say this....

the students that have been unfortunate enough not to be able to fit in, make friends, do well, maybe through lack of effort or personal problems, are probably sitting by their computers at ABC University, having too much spare time, and writing a lot of these negative comments.

Those who are attending class, doing well, and having fun, are...well..having fun, with no time nor inclination to rant.

i agree with amrik and chocoholic... ive read studentsreveiw.com for a bunch of colleges and the majority for all of them were negative comments

pp000441, let us know how campus day goes

Anyone with access to a computer can post on that site. There is no proof that anyone ever set foot on the campus. Some people just like to bash other schools.
