Has anyone read The notebook by Nicholas Sparks?

I have just finished reading it and i thought it was sooooo romantic. Has anyone seen the movie? I am a bit wary of watching the movie as it was such a good book, is it good?

Any other good romantic novels? (not cheesy romance..)

At the moment I am reading The English Patient. The style is nearly breathtaking at times, I must say.

I have read the book once and watched the movie 3 times.
They are both very, very good. And oh-so-romantic. :)
Even though I've watched the movie more, I thought the book was way better, but alot of my friends think otherwise.

Read the book and see for yourself!! :-D
Nicholas Sparks writes really great romance novels... if you like the Notebook you should also try The Rescue and A Walk to Remember (that movie was good as well... I've seen it 10 times to date... no joke. Yeah, I don't have a life)

Have fun!!

A great novel is The Pact by Jodi Picoult. It is very deep, I couldn't put it down. It's not a "normal" romance novel though... it's about a suicide pact between a boy and girl. You can read about it on www.jodipicoult.com . She is a truly gifted writer!

I watched "A Walk to Remember" before reading the book. I thought the movie was brilliant.

Then I read the book, and the book is utterly amazing. The movie pales in comparison.

I've never read "The Notebook," as I didn't like the movie. To me, it was sappy and okay. However, I absolutely adore Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. I don't know why the movie didn't do anything for me.

wow...nick sparks is one of my favourite current authors.."message in a bottle" was really so beautiful..i liked that and "the rescue" more than "notebook" and "walk" surprisingly...altho i saw the walk to remember movie first and loved that so i thought that book would be a favourite..i highly recommend that everyone read "message", "notebook", "walk", "rescue" and "nights in rodanthe" as well..all his novels are incredibly heartbreaking and beautiful ..

I think he creates such a genuine emotion with his words. Its just undeniable that he is a great author, and greatly skilled in provoking the right reactions from his readers.

u kno wat else i like...the fact that he doesnt feel the need to use elaborate, SAT-vocab-style language in his books...all his novels are so simple but so evocative..love him love him love him..

I read a part of The Notebook and thought it was too corny. Loved the movie though. Ryan Gosling is a goddddd. Has anyone seen him in The Believer??

"u kno wat else i like...the fact that he doesnt feel the need to use elaborate, SAT-vocab-style language in his books..."

SWEEEEEEEET
