Once again Maryversity is right on target. In addition to the scholarship notifications that come out in March/April time frame, please look at the scholarships listed for your specific majors. While the specific scholarship pages imply that those scholarships are for after you complete your freshman year and later, there are some that have few applicants and companies will occasionally make exceptions and permit you to apply for it early. I will admit this is definitely more work than getting the B/K, however there is a perk with some of these scholarships. Since they are for your major, it gives you an opportunity to make connections and potentially network with professionals who are in a position to hire you for an internship down the road. While it is disappointing right now, and perhaps in some of your cases not even fair, I would encourage you to at least look at the other scholarship opportunities. It may end up being a blessing in disguise.
Watch your mailboxes. My D2 received her envelope today.
@PJW1234 Did she get the full ride?
Yes. Kind of special since D1 also received full ride. S1 is feeling a little bummed since two years ago he was only offered the Presidential and ened up turning it down.
D2 received her letter and certificate yesterday for the full ride! It was postmarked March 20th, as another poster indicated as well.
Sorry; she received it Monday. We’re in Northern Virginia. It may well take longer to get to students who don’t live in the Eastern seaboard.
