Just curious....

I thought I did yesterday with my letters from Pitt and Wisconsin, but it was just some lousy letter inviting my to a society of women’s engineering thing grrrr

Matok - good luck to you :-). We are getting this sort of mail almost every day now. My son has gotten 2 acceptance letters from 2 safety schools. But we are curious whether anyone got accepted by U of Minnesota yet…

Does anyone know when the merit scholarship decision will be notified by U of Minnesota?

I am still waiting for a reply. I applied 9/01/09 and had everything in(ACT/transcripts/letters of rec)shortly thereafter.

This is what it says on my online application tracker:
Status of your application as of: October 9, 2009 .
Please note: This is the most up-to-date information available to our staff.
All of your required application materials have been received. Thank you! We will complete a very careful overall assessment of your application and your decision will be mailed no later than the end of February.

I certainly hope I found out before February!!

Does Minnesota put acceptances on the online tracker? I know Wisconsin does but Pitt doesn’t…

I’m interested in knowing the same.

I’ll have my SAT scores sent to University of Minnesota and then can wait on a rejection, acceptance or deferred admission. It will be great if I get accepted.

No one has heard anything?

When do you recieve a University of Minnesota ID etc… to track your application?

U of M received all my stuff on 9/30/09. My sibling applied a couple of years ago and got an acceptance three weeks after they applied a day or two after U of M started to review apps. I guess that means we should get a decision somewhere around 3-4 weeks after we applied (just guessing).

Just wanted to pop in and say that yes, acceptances show up on the tracker. It will say “Congratulations! You have been admitted to [Insert College name here]” and tell you what date your letter was mailed (mine took literally two weeks to get to my house last year, so the online tracker is definitely worth checking). If it says CLA and you didn’t apply to CLA, you didn’t get into your first choice college (you may have been either rejected or postponed), but you are in for, well, CLA. Full postponements (deferrals) show up just saying something like “A decision has been made and a letter is in the mail.” Not sure about rejections.

stuckinillinois that is not the case, because I applied July 13th and have not heard anything yet. I know they have a lot of applications, but hopefully I can get a decision before feb.

pacman – I don’t think they start reading apps until Oct. 15th (I read that somewhere, I’m pretty sure), so if you got it in early, you should hear soon after that. Unless of course something has changed this year. My D is waiting too.

It might have been done differently a few years ago. Like all of you I can’t wait to get my decision.

My son applied at the end of July. His status says the same thing as codymann67. I also read somewhere that they don’t begin reviewing applications until sometime in October. I believe the earliest acceptance I saw on last year’s thread was early November. Good luck to everyone getting into their first choice college.

My counselor was just up at the U and got the scoop: They are not even going to start looking at apps until 10/15 (Thursday this week). They want to then evaluate how strong the class will be and on 12/1 they will start mailing out decisions to the shoe-ins. Everyone else could have to wait until February no matter how early you applied. The U really has no clue how strong their class will or could be so that is what is going on.

Meanwhile I got my acceptance from Madison eight days after applying. I’m just sayin.

Oh wow you’ve already heard from University of Wisconsin- Madison, that’s great. (If I’m correct, my principle is a a Wisconsin alumni)

Geez I didn’t know how likely everyone is to only hear from Minnesota until January.

I think with the change is OOS tuition a couple of years ago, Minnesota is kind of in new territory. Applications have really gone up. So it’s probably really smart of them to take their time to build better and better classes.

Status of your application as of: October 13, 2009 .
Please note: This is the most up-to-date information available to our staff.

Now the tracker shows NO information for me!!

Mine too!

I checked yesterday and it was complete with a decision promised by February.

Now there’s nothing in either column.

More stress.

Everything on Application Tracker is back in its place today.
Calmer.

Budget cuts have slowed down the process this year. My son’s stuff has been in for a while, but he has the same message others of you have reported in application tracker, that his materials will be reviewed and that he will hear a result by February.

Yeah, they just received all of my material as well. They said it’s complete, but I didn’t pay my application fee. Anyone else experiencing this?
