I heard that people are starting to receive letters for Round 3..anyone heard from Tech yet?

I saw on their website they will be sending decisions from March 16-20

I heard last week. Accepted, yay!

^how'd you hear already?

Well, it all started when I came home and saw this suspiciously large envelope on my kitchen table. I turn it around to see a man-sized yellow jacket holding up a sign that says, "Congratulations, you're a Yellow Jacket!" Another friend of mine heard the same day as well.

disasterpiece, when did you apply? by January or October 31st? and congratulations!

I applied in the middle of December IIRC, and thanks.

^ahaha... sorry, i forgot to mention congratulations!
i hadn't realized that they were sending them out already.

I def am waiting anxiously for my response from GT. Hopefully I receive it soon but I bet I won't until the 15th. =[, hopefully I get in to.

If it's like last year, almost any time after the first round, if they receive an app with 2400 SAT, 36 ACT, and 4.0 unweighted, or something close to that, they will send out an acceptance. After all apps are in, they will peel off some of the top applicants a few at the time as they are sure those will make the cut and send acceptances. A number of acceptances, rejections, and half-ways (go somewhere else for a year and do good) will be sent at the very end.

They called my house, asking whether I had received anything in the mail. I hadn't. They told me that I was accepted. Whoot.

incase anyone is wondering, 2260 (780 m 700 cr 780 wr)

They called your house? Did they say why? Also, where do you live?

South Carolina.

I actually am not at home this week, and my mom answered the phone. She told them to call back, but she said that they had said I was accepted.

That's all I know.

Congratulations Awanderer!

I wouldn't consider myself a "powerhouse" applicant though. 2080 SAT, 3.94/4.16 GPA. Although I am a URM. Good luck to all those who applied!

Got my acceptance packet today!

Congrats GinnyPumpkin! Can you please list your stats? and did you apply for regular admission or early and got deferred?

Yea I also called the admissions office and the person who said that its between March 16-20 is right. But what the representative told me is that the timeframe indicates when the decisions will be received by applicants. She said that the bulk of decisions are mailed on PI DAY (3/14). So that makes MIT, RPI, GA Tech, and many other Tech schools release on Pi day.

Just received my packet today. Admitted as a computer science major...

Stats: 700 CR, 790 MA, 710 Wr, 2200/2400
GPA: 3.70 UW, 4.25 W

That's BS. Just release them when you've made a decision - no reason to make someone wait.

In the good old days, they'd do just that. I sent an application to Georgia Tech and received an admission letter 5 days later.
