Haha yeah! I’m sure it was a relief! You have a back-up plan no matter what!

Yeahhhh, all Southern California! Aside from UW. I’ve had a taste of the Midwest, and I’m not so sure I ever want to go back… Hah only kidding, it was great, but I’ve already done it, you know? I would really like to go to school on the east coast, but I feel like it would be too much of a hassle travel-wise when I only have two more years.

Yes, I did accept a place on the waitlist. But I’m certain you can still decline if you do get accepted. In the letter they wrote that of the students they offered admission from last years waitlist- a certain number accepted and a certain number declined. Also, they said to continue on and accept other offers of admission, but if your interest in Pepperdine changes, to remove yourself from the list. However, huge part of it for me is the financial aid… As I am paying for school myself and most is all handed out by the time the waitlisted students are offered a spot. So, even if I am accepted the chances of me actually being able to go would depend on that fact (and if Occidental accepts me). Oh and Pepperdine doesn’t rank students on the waitlist. They wait to hear back from the students who were initially accepted, then if they have space, they evaluate the students who accepted a place on the waitlist again. So, I’m not sure where I would be on the list but the ‘strongly urging’ part of the letter is encouraging.

Yes! Fingers crossed! And toes! Haha

I did interview at Occidental, I felt like it went well. I don’t know though, the whole interview process… And I mean in any instance- whether applying for a job, school, or trying to keep a job when pay cuts roll in… Is asking you to promote yourself. Or prove why ‘I’m the best’… And I’m not so great at that kind of stuff. I mean, I guess you have to master the skill in order to get ‘that job’ in the future, it’s just something I don’t like do. But then again, who does? Well I’m sure there are a select few, haha anyway… When I visited Oxy, the admissions counselors and staff were awesome, very friendly and helpful. I had no idea the young man I had talked to all of lunch at my table was going to be the counselor interviewing me later in the day. So, it was really great, I felt like he really got to know me candidly and could see what I could bring to the school aside from attempting to “promote” myself by struggling to explain who I am in words and what I’ve accomplished. I was very grateful as because of this, the official interview was much more relaxed and comfortable, I would go as far as saying it was a fun and enjoyable experience. I still wonder if all interviews were planned to turn out like mine or if it was just a strange coincidence… haha. Anyway, sorry for talking your ear off… but Thailand? That’s awesome!!! What are you doing over there?
