Just wondering, which majors are you guys considering?

Economics, and I have yet to find anything in the mail

I want to double major in Art and Psychology

So nobody else has heard back from oxy?

gosh, the thing is that schools usually mail rejection letters after all the acceptance ones have been mailed out…so either they haven’t mailed anything to all of us in this forum, or we’re all rejected. :S

@tperrier

0.0 AAHHHH!!! dont be so negative ><
We just have to keep positive until we hear back. sigh

Darn. I got an email this morning saying I was rejected. Total bummer. I’m guessing since you guys didn’t, then hopefully that means they are sending out acceptances through the mail to all of you!

Best of luck to you all!

Oh no Russell!! I’m so sorry!! But you did get accepted to some wonderful schools and you should be proud of all you’ve accomplished! I have yet to ever receive an email from occidental though so who knows, they could just not have it on record. I sure do hope I am accepted but if not, we can start a comforting thread where we can vent about being rejected from schools! Hah… But really. And also, thank you so much for the constant conversation, you really helped me to cope with this whole situation!!

It’s definitely a bummer, but everything will be fine. I’m sure I’ll have a great time in NY.

Same to you! Thanks for preventing me from going insane haha. I have a good feeling you’ll get in. The email seemed like it was a mass email sent to everyone who was rejected. Since you didn’t get it, I’m going to take that as a good sign. In any case, I’m rooting for you!!

@rahsule! im srsly sry to hear that man! don’t worry about it! thx for starting this thread though. u definitely comforted like 15 people haha. wow so they sent an email huh? not even a letter? its ok! good luck with everything! there’s thousands of colleges in america and any of them would be lucky to have u

Thanks for the kind words tperrier. It definitely sucks, but I guess it just wasn’t in the cards.

I definitely keep checking this with my fingers crossed for you guys! Out of all the schools I applied to, Oxy’s waiting period was the roughest. Glad I stressed through it with you guys.

Good luck to you too! Let me know when you get your acceptance! :)

@rahsule

I’m sorry to hear that. I’m sure there are plenty of other great school that are dying to accept you. Everything will work out in the end. I’m guessing they’ve sent some acceptances, some declines, but I’m wondering if all thats left are the ones who are waitlisted…

@rahsule
I’m sorry to read. I wish the best of luck to you in NY.

By now I’m really starting to worry. One person got an acceptance email a week ago and another person got declined via email. I’m thinking that if they will email two people then they would email almost everyone. So could that mean that the rest of us are on the waitlisted distribution list or possibly our application files were incomplete? The reason I say this is because I had gotten an email saying that my app was incomplete in April; and they told me that if I turn everthing by May 2nd, I should have a decision by May 15. I know I still have a few more days to wait; it is just this wait is killing me more and more with each day.
I’m sorry to vent like this; I hope I didnt make anyone as anxious as I am. I’m trying to relax but rubbing your ears and saying WOOSAH over and over doesn’t work to well.

Well I called to double check a week or so ago to see if my application made it and if they were missing any information, and the lady on the phone said it was complete. She said they would be mailing them out on a rolling basis, and like you, I have yet to receive an email from or notification in the mail.

I was thinking… a major part in being accepted to Occidental for us transfer students who have yet to hear back will rely heavily on the already-admitted freshman class. So either for us our letters are on their way, or they are trying to determine whether or not they have the room or the resources regarding financial aid to admit each one of us after they have sorted out the official freshman class.

In any case, take the lack of a rejection email cautiously as a good sign. Hopefully Friday will bring us ALL some good news. And really though if we all get in we will need to hang out when we get there… hah

OH and… I was going to say… I’m thinking your odds are pretty high up there if they went through the trouble to ask you to send in more information… I mean, most colleges would just say… “sorry, you didn’t have your stuff in on time”. And Yeah… it is occidental, but I would definitely take that as a good sign

I got waitlisted. :

Ugh seriously? You still have a chance though, just keep calling them. Tell them you’re interested. I haven’t heard anything at all… Anyone else hear back today?

Russel… Did your parents receive your letter in the mail yet?

Yep, but it wasn’t by email. They mailed me the waitlist card and letter.

Do they rank the waitlist? And do you live in California? Because if they were to mail me anything it would take a bit longer
