University of Washington in Seattle says the mailings for honors decisions started 4/1 and could go on until 4/15. Does anyone know if they send rejections as well? Or, do you have to wait until 4/15 to find out you didn't get in?

Also, any comment on how valuable the honors program is? There doesn't seem to be a good way to compare the honors program with other schools. Even the ranking sites (US News etc..) do not rank honors.

Thanks
Sherus

I got my letter just now. I got in :)

I’m not sure how this changes things though. I don’t know much about the honors program, and I got into Berkeley and USC, so I don’t know if this means I should seriously consider UW right now. Can anyone shed some like on the honors program?

Congrats! It’s crazy how many amazing people did not get it.
I got in too, and I’m seriously considering it–mostly because the other schools I was accepted to are a lot more expensive, and I’m planning on going to grad school. But I haven’t gotten my financial aid award from USC yet, so we’ll see.
I’ve talked to a few people that I know that are in the honors program, and all of them are studying neurobiology (they all want to be doctors one day). The benefits of the program are smaller classes, scholarships, TONS of research opportunities, study abroad opportunities, and a lot of other things that are on their website. I’m going to one of the Honors visit days on Monday, so I’ll find out more then. Basically, it offers some amazing opportunities for research, and you also do ELPs (Experiential Learning Projects) that I’m really bad at explaining.

@tikiman53 Berkeley and USC are definitely better choices if you’re interested in engineering or business.
