LOL…I didn’t even know T-town had a Riverwalk until recently. Of course it’s nothing like San Antonio’s famous and awesome Riverwalk, but this one is nice to walk and get some fresh air and nice views.

Tuscaloosa’s Riverwalk is a 3-4 mile walking/biking trail along the Black Warrior River. It includes a couple of nice parks and the boat launch of the Bama Belle.

If you’re on the north side of campus on Jack Warner Hwy (north of the Honors Dorms) there is a park called The Park at Manderson Landing (which is now completely owned by Bama).

Well, west of that is the Riverwalk. It’s really a nice walking area along the river. It ends (I think) where the new Outdoor Amphitheater will be. I saw that, too. It’s coming along nicely.

I live in San Antonio and while the Riverwalk is a large tourist attraction, it is somewhat dirty and I never visit it unless family or friends are in town. The look of the Bama one looks very relaxing.

We’re lucky such a place is close to campus. With the addition of a pedestrian bridge, students will have an easier time getting across Jack Warner Parkway.

I noticed that Bama Dining had an event at The Park at Manderson Landing. I wonder if Bama is using that as an off-site place to host events when the weather is nice.

I love the San Antonio Riverwalk, but it’s more a pedestrian mall with a canal in the middle. The Tuscaloosa Riverwalk is actual greenspace. It’s suppose to stretch the entire length of the river in the city limits when it’s all said and done.

They sure do. They’ve also blocked anybody from using the park for event unless they are agents of the University. The public can’t use the shelters there anymore (that includes students). I tried to rent one of the shelters for a picnic for grad students and they wouldn’t let me.
