I saw that the reviews on yelp were bad. Has anyone had any experiences here?
its got 4 stars what do you mean?
It has 3 on yelp.
link?
I’m on the waiting for suites and the person I had spoke to said if there isn’t any room to accommodate, apply for the village. After reading the views, I am skeptical on the village.
I was really excited when I heard about it. But when I saw the reviews I wasn’t sure. The good reviews were from people that didn’t actually live there:/…
@MissGish did you apply or the suites?
I can’t afford the suites:/. I’m still iffy about the village. A reviewer said her room would flood. I dunno if i can deal with that
I read that too along with other negative reviews. I’m a CIS major and I want to room with someone with the same interest instead of random individuals.
Cool I’m a CIS major too. Which track are you taking?
i want to get into Management. You? Have you applied for the village?
I want to do the Information Assurance one. No I haven’t. I might just apply to the suites. Do we have to pay the deposit right away?
No you do not have to pay the deposit right away. The waiting list is super crazy. I applied for the suites when I got admitted and I’m too 325 waiting list. If I don’t get into the suites I’ll settle with the village and hoping to room with someone with the same major.
I’m pretty sure paying the $450 deposit helps your chances, because I know I applied after you @ka0sControl, and the Housing rep told me I was in the top 175… I’m not positive about my theory, but it seems like it would help.
And for everyone who lives somewhat nearby, if you can, I would suggest visiting the accommodations near CPP in person, so you can make your own judgments. You can even ask current residents how their experience has been, if you feel so inclined.
Is it possible to stop by on the day of orientation?
I would think so, just make sure it doesn’t get in the way of the orientation activities. And I’m not sure if the rules are the same for The Village, but for the rez halls/suites the Housing website says:
“There are two options for taking a tour of housing facilities. Cal Poly Pomona’s Campus Tours provides an excellent tour that includes a showroom for the Residence Halls. University Housing Services conducts tours on an ad hoc basis, Monday through Friday, between 8am-5pm. To arrange a tour of the Residential Suites, please contact the Housing Office in advance of your visit. Groups may arrange for tours through the Campus Tours office or through the Housing Office.”
So check the website for The Village to make sure of their protocol.
Cool thank-you. Dunno how I didn’t think of doing that lol
@MissGish Not a problem It helps to have other people scouring the internet for info haha
