I really just need to relax and have a little sense of peace of mind. I applied to UCSC for the fall 2017 transfer quarter. However, 40 of my 60 units are from a 4 year university and the other 20 are from my local CC here in California. I was wondering if you or someone you know has been accepted to a UC with mixed credits like this?
As long as they’re lower division you can have as many as you want. The UC just transfers 70 semester units with the rest getting subject credit. Any upper division courses from a 4-year are added to that count. The top limit is about 86-90, depending on UC. If you only have 60 youre fine; however it would be good to have padding because some of those courses from the 4-yr might not be UC-transferable and then you are under the 60 minimum. That’s what you should be worried about. I’d add a course in spring to be safe and have a 3-4 unit pad.
