I feel very limited by my school, as I am only allowed to take 4 AP's (senior year). I really want to take 5, but I am having a hard time choosing my classes because of the limit.
Has anyone on here successfully been able to take more AP's than your school allows? I think one person a couple of years ago was able to take more than four, but he was probably the smartest person to ever go to my school, and I'm guessing that's the reason why they allowed him to take more AP's.

I really feel that if a student is capable, they should be able to take more AP's. I've been thinking about talking to my principal about this, but I don't know if that would do much. Any help?

Umm my school allows a maximum of 6 in school but there is no limit out of school. Next year im taking 5 in school and 2 online. try asking your councelor if online classes are allowed

Try self studying for the AP exams or talking to your GC about out of school AP classes/online classes.

I have a friend who took 17 AP tests. XD
He did independent study on most of them…

My school only allows sophomores to take one AP (APWH), but I skipped Spanish 4 and was able to take AP Spanish 5. You should definitely talk to the principal about this.

At my school all the AP classes are free-for-alls. They don’t limit the amount of classes you can take unless you have the infamous counselor (that shall remained unnamed for her sake) that doesn’t know anything. She limits all the students that she takes care of to four. My counselor allowed me to take as many as I wanted. I’m taking 5 right now. Will I pass all of them this year? Maybe. I know I won’t be getting 5s on them, but I’ve accepted the fact.

Honestly, I would be so incredibly happy to have an AP limit. Your counselor will explain that you are taking the most rigorous schedule possible, and colleges will love it. Take 4 and relax.

^ Agreed. The boundary would keep me sane, as I wouldn’t feel the need to kill myself to show that my schedule is rigorous. Alas, I will be taking 5/6 next year and possibly more senior year.
