i’ve never had the oppurtunity to sit down and try to lucid dream, however, I know how. For most people, it happens by accident. Something a lot of people do, is, every 15 minutes or so, get in the habit of asking yourself whether you are in a dream. It seems that this habit should carry on to when you are dreaming (after you question yourself for a while) and then you’ll question yourself in a dream…find out you’re in a dream, and start lucid dreaming. Another strategy is to look at clocks in dreams, since they are pretty much ALWAYS messed up. I have a method, however, that is supposed to work 95% of the time. It’s called the suneye method. The suneye method works for both astral projection and lucid dreaming. here’s some pdf files which talk about the suneye method. http://downloads.fixato.co.uk/dreaming/SUNEYE%20Method.zip

SUNEYE METHOD

*The method I will be describing later has been said to have a 95%+ success rate. It was successful for me and is really no harm, so might as well try it. But first, let me get some other stuff out the way.

Disclaimer: I’m not claiming you’ll actually project yourself into the real world or that it’s even possible, this is strictly for entertainment purposes. I’m well aware this is probably nothing more than a trick of the mind, but I don’t see anything wrong with that if it’s all for fun. We aren’t trying to cure a disease here. Also, any references to being in the real world from this point on can be interpretted as being in a world created by your mind very similar to the real world, in other words, your perception of the world.

Disclaimer2: I am not responsible for any psychological breakdowns which occur from this. Note that if you have heart problems or any serious medical conditions, you should not attempt this as I have no idea how this affects such things since breathing is apparently altered in doing this. Finally, I abstain from taking responsibility for you freaking out over the things you experience and feel.

(For those who don’t care about background information, just skip to the section entitled “Method:” for the actual procedure.)

Definitions:

Lucid Dreaming(From Wikipedia) - Lucid dreaming is the conscious perception of one’s state while dreaming, resulting in a much clearer (“lucid”) experience and usually enabling direct control over the content of the dream.

Astral Projection(From Wikipedia) - Astral projection (or astral travel) is an interpretation of out-of-body experiences (OBEs) achieved either consciously or via lucid dreaming

Etheric Projection - Astral projection into the real world

Projector - The person in the form of their astral body which is a “projection” of either their physical body or their thoughts(Projectors can change their form at will, although others can easily see through such disguises)

Astral Plane - Different spiritual worlds. Kind of like dreams that anyone and everyone can enter.

Background: Firstly, Lucid Dreaming is something many of us have experienced. Essentially, it is a very clear dream, almost real. Often, the person has complete control of the dream. The method I am going to be describing later is a method of obtaining such a dream. But this method is also used to Astral Project. Astral Projection is a somewhat debated phenomenon which some discount as being simply a uncontrollable Lucid Dream. However, many say it is instead the process of leaving your body and traveling to another realm. These other realms are dreamlike, but like our world, they do not exist in one mind. Even further, some Projectors believe they can stay in our realm while projected and be somewhat of a ghost. Interactions are limited to seeing possibilities and giving others a sense that you were there. Of course, these are written off by many as to be false, simply. But, some people live and breath by it. The terms of astral travel are very complex: an astral cord connecting you to your body, emotions controlling every action you take immediately, emotions being expressed 100%(many cry and achieve extreme happiness in it), and of course other spirits. But that isn’t why you’re reading this. You want to know how and the rest will follow later.

To put some worries out of the way for weary projectors:
-You cannot lose your body. As said earlier, the astral cord connects your astral body to your regular body.
-Another person cannot steal your body. Though it has been said that if you give them permission, they can. Unsure of the validity of this
-If your astral cord is cut, you will not die. Actually, they say it can’t be cut. Any tug will snap you back into your body and for some it is even invisible.

But… figuring out what is BS and what isn’t is not the point of this. What we are looking for is entertainment, right? So take this as entertainment value and not super serious “I’m better than everyone because I can fly around Paris and Hell without leaving my bedroom”

Now onto the good part… the method

Method:

Caution: The end result of this method is sleep paralysis(the door to Astral Projection). This is, to many, a very scary phenomenon best described as mind awake, body asleep. As the description says, the body is asleep. It is unmovable. No matter how hard you try, you won’t be able to move your body. This leads to many thinking they are dead and having a panic attack, which then leads to hallucinations. But knowing it will come will save you from such. I’m telling you right now, you WILL be paralyzed. Don’t fear the inevitable, especially when it won’t hurt you. When it happens, just relax and let it pass.

The Suneye method(as I’ve heard it) is pretty simple. As a precursor, the preceding day should not be stressful and you shouldn’t have any appointments on the following day. This is to ensure stress free sleep. The sleep is not to be interrupted, so make sure you won’t be. The day you are going to try it should be a normal day and you should go to sleep at a normal time.

Go to sleep for 5 hours. Set an alarm clock to wake you up.

Stay awake for 20 minutes to an hour. Don’t eat or drink anything. It is recommended that you read some stuff concerning Lucid Dreaming/Astral projection(whichever is your focus of this) to stay focused

Get back in bed. Lay in a comfortable position facing upwards with your hands to your sides

Close your eyes and look towards the middle of your forehead(where some would describe to be the location of the third eye). This may be a little of a strain, but that’s how it’s supposed to be.

Repeat a phrase indicating your intentions 15-30 times while still looking towards your forehead. ex “I will have a lucid dream. I will remember everything that happens during this dream. I will be in full control of this dream.” x 20.

Now relax your eyes and begin counting up from 1. This is to help you go to sleep. Many people find it hard to fall back to sleep after being up and moving for 20 minutes after such a long sleep.

And that’s it! Now you will have some extremely messed up dreams, likely. Finally, you’ll have a lucid dream(you’ll know because it will feel real/different from the others). You’ll be in full control of this dream and can then choose whether you want to stay in dreamland or attempt Projection. Whatever you choose will have the same result eventually: You will “wake up”

When you wake up, you’ll be paralyzed. This will last for a few seconds before you beging to feel a rapid shaking. DON’T PANIC! Your body isn’t actually shaking, it’s all in your head. If you don’t wish to Project, let the shaking subside on it’s own. If you do, you have to learn to control the “vibrations”. It’s hard to describe, but you have to get it to move like a wave through your body. Use your mind to guide it until it moves rhythmatically through your body. Then finally, you can use whatever your favorite method of exiting the body is. I recommend the simple swing method which involves you imagining you’re at a known park on a known swing, swinging realistically. Keep swinging higher and higher until you reach the highest point. Swing once more and JUMP! If you’re successfully, you’ll jump right out of your body and into the astral world. Be careful as your emotions will immediately take control and send you wherever you desire. If you get scared and wish to return to your body, wiggle your big toe.

And that’s that. Either you decided to Project or you allowed sleep paralysis to subside. Oh! And if you mess up exiting/controlling the vibrations, you’ll black out. This is common, so don’t worry about it. It will just be like dreamless sleep.

here’s something interesting:

*2.24. How can I stop real time in my Lucid Dreams?

Stopping real time in your Lucid Dreams means making the Lucid Dream last far more than the time passed by in the physical world. Like having a dream that last a few minutes in real time, while you might experience it as a few days in the dream. By doing this can you enjoy the dream scape a lot more, since you can spend days in the dream while it really just last a few minutes. Robert Monroe even reported experiencing 100 years in a 2 hours OOBE. But to experience this might be difficult, little research have been done on this area. And those that experience it don’t consciously try to have them. Still, there are a few techniques you might try. First of all, set your intention to stop real time. Have that intention in mind while having your Lucid Dream. Picture yourself being in the dream for days, maybe even weeks before you wake up. You might try to saying out loud: “Stop time now!” You can try looking at your clock in the dream, and imagine that the clock slow down and stop. You might try to expect the dream to last for days. You might try visualize two pyramids, connected at their bases counterrotating. And maybe visualize multiple pyramids rotating inside each other all rotating. This is something worth going for, as it may give you incredible long Lucid Dreams.*
