<p>I am just curious because I keep a high GPA and am thinking of buying this book because I am a nerd. </p>
<p>I have read reviews on it. And, there has even been a thread on it on this site. </p>
<p>But, has anyone out there actually used what the author says? I haven't found anything on that anywhere.</p>
<p>As a "smart student," my advice is to not get ripped off by books.</p>
<p>i bought the book. it was only like 12$ for me so it's not really a big expense. i haven't read the study skills in depth yet haha...i've only read the brief descriptions. i'll read it this weekend and try that stuff out. anything's better than how i've been studying before.</p>
<p>Don't buy it.</p>
<p>If you want to read it, go find a copy in the library.</p>

<p>Here's my review:</p>
<p>The book started out great!The introduction was good because I felt that he was talking to me. Then he went onto the Atitude thing that sort of threw me. Yet once again he was making good points and brought up things I never thought about before.
The next section of the book is "How Smart Students Learn"- he began talking about learning the old way...which I admit is the way I studied. Then he started with cyberlearning. This is the twelve steps to learning. They are long and require alot of work. Sometimes to much time that alot of people just don't have. Yet if you are capable of going to college I think you are capable of knowing which ones to do and which ones not to do. I personally will not follow all 12 for all my course because I will never finish.
What I do like is that he tells people in the next section not all subjects are alike. He then goes on to say how one should study and write papers.</p>
<p>The book is long but good. If your getting good marks don't waste your time changing the way you study. If your marks are not so good or you feel you can improve give the book a try. Because unlike other books it say stupid things that I hope everyone knows like "Go to Class" and "Do your homework".</p>
<p>Great book for people who made it into college. Give it a try! Out of 10 I give a 7.5</p>

<p>I bought a super used copy today through amazon.com, I like your review because I figured that it would be kinda like a pick what works best for you kind of deal.</p>
<p>If I do not get much out of the book, I am going to donate to an at risk school's library, so it is alright.</p>

<p>i bought it two months ago and i read like 5 pages and got bored. Thats ADD for ya.</p>
<p>i just liked it b/c it really opened up my eyes to how school is organized in general.....how most students are just "taught" material and do not like learning because they aren't actively engaged in it. it reinforced in me the idea that my education is all up to me, and how learning is much more important than grades.<br>
that said, i don't know if i'm going to follow all the "steps".....i'll probably just roughly adopt them....i'm going to be doing mostly math/science classes anyway so i don't know how much it's going to help me.</p>
