My daughter had an alumnus interview last month because we live out of state. She said she thought the interview went pretty well. Then last week she got an email from her MHC admission rep who only had 4 interview slots on the day she was in our town and said that she wanted to meet with her. Is that a good sign? Has anyone else had this happen?

It would be a way to demonstrate interest–since the admin rep sought her out, why not?

Yes it’s a good sign. She on the radar and they want to more about her. Go . Interview. Ask questions specie to her areas of interest.

I say she should do it. The regional rep is the person who does the “first read” of the application, so she’s an important part of the admissions team. I think it’s really valuable for that person to meet the applicant in person.
Good luck to your daughter! Mine is absolutely loving MHC :)

D visited MHC two years after graduating. She walked around campus crying, realizing how much she missed the place!!! Best of luck OP–it is a very special place.

There was a huge college fair in Charlotte in October and D was excited to see that MHC was on the list of attendees. She emailed the regional rep before the event and told her that she was looking forward to meeting her there. D went to the fair and sifted through the 100+ booths but MHC didn’t make it. She didn’t hear back initially from the rep, but when the Admissions rep planned a trip her for interviews, she said she later found it in her spam folder and wanted to extend her an interview. My D told me about that part AFTER I made the post.

Even more reason to interview. It’s a good chance to ask any last minute questions. Best of luck.
